Title: GN'R won't add another lead, but let Izzy resume rhythm. . .
Post by: parisrocks on May 03, 2006, 07:31:16 PM
We all know Finck has the chops and Ric Fortus should never be slept on, he can be very technical.

So, why not Izzy to hold down all things rhythm and right all wrongs in the universe?

I'd love it, but they still wouldn't be able to play Buckets solos live.

If Bucket solos dont exist any more , maybe Bucket is the leaker man of the songs  :peace:

IZZY won't return to GnR.....he had a chance to be in VR but turned it down and he had a chance to go back to GnR in the 90's but turned that down too....he's done with the spotlight i think.

But I'd love to be wrong ;D

Itd be great to have another original 'real' gunner, but without Slash, to alot of people its still going to look like a bunch of hired hands.

Dont get me wrong, Id personally love to see Izzy back rockin it, but to the general public, Guns = Axl and Slash

Bucket=Over-rated.

Sweep picking and tapping are all his solo's are.
I could do it. Finck and Fortus could do it. There not that hard at all.

Slash's solo's on the other hand take som talent as Slash doesn't tap, sweep pick or any other of those cheap tricks. He actually plays.

BH is more than cheap tricks. Sure fret tapping , sweeps etc.. can be done cheaply, but he is in a league for that style that few can claim to be in

Good point about Slash solos tho, his solos are probably as hard as BHs to play well. Sure he's not as fast or technical, but the feel he possesses requires some playing - just ask Finck who really struggled emulating that feel

to say Buckethead is overrated is stupid in two ways. First, he's virtually unknown, so there's no way he can be overrated. Second, his solo work proves he does more than tap and sweep. You obviously haven't heard it all.

I think they meant that Buckethead is over-rated amongst GNR fans. He obviously isn't over-rated popularity wise.

He IS a damn fine player, whether sweep picking, tapping, acoustic, classical, or chicken pickin', etc.

But........to think that no one could emulate what he is supposed to have played on CD is stupid, because...

1. no one knows what the fuckin thing(CD) has on it

2. all anyone here knows about Finck or Fortus is what they heard on the last tour. Both are very accomplished musicians that have adapted to some very different situations. To think that they couldn't learn a few sweeps or taps is ridiculous, assuming they don't already possess the skills, just didn't have the need to use them

That said, I'd love to see Izzy back. I don't think it'll happen.

I'd love to have Izzy in the band, moreso than any other past member. Seeing as how he and Axl were friends way before Slash and Duff came in the picture, the prospect of him rejoining Axl is a little different. And if you all think that they're still looking for someone to play Bucket's solos, dream on. I'm sure his solos are long gone in the current form of things. Regardless of a 3rd guitarist, the songs will sound different than when Bucket was in the band...

I'm sorry, I love Izzy but there is no way in hell he is going on stage and playing songs like Better.  I am not knocking the song, it is one of my fav, but Izzy playing it? come on now.

I'd fucking love it if Richard turned out to be the lead. I have a feeling he has some killer skills up his sleeve. Let the man work on his speed a bit,and he'd be fine.

I ve always been a GNR fan but the original line up with Izzy is alittle to long ago for me to remember.  What kind of player was he?

Kind of a stupid  thread. The reason is that IZZY DOES NOT WANT TO.
