EDIT: People under the thread about Brain performing on the 12th with another band posted a photo after darknemus claimed he had seen a recent pic from in the studio. Whoever posted it claimed it was brand-new and that it was a studio photo. Nope.

It came from an engineer named Gersh's Myspace page. I knew I recognized it. He is a sound tech engineer - er, drum tech - for the new album.

He contacted me when I ran the Axl fanpage on myspace a while back. And that's when I saw the photo.

He has another photo that has the GN'R label on it if you check out the photos.

Lets at least respect the guys privacy........... and hes Brains Drumtech, not just an Engineer!

It's nothing to change the color of your drum set.  You can buy plastic sheets to wrap your drum set with.  My drummer changes the color of his kit often.

Isn't Gersh ALWAYS Brain's drum tech?  Wouldn't a picture of him be almost as good as a picture of Brain in authentication?

On the "newness" issue:

Dunno if he is "always" brain's drum tech but he's got an impressive list of clients for sure.

Some of Gersh?s clients include Rage Against the Machine, Monster Magnet, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Sugar Ray, P.O.D., Hoobastank, Guns ?n? Roses, Queens of the Stone Age and Dave Grohl. And apparently he plays on VGH too.

My point was that: If Gersh is Brain's drum tech  AND it's Gersh in the pic (and not Brain) doesn't it, essentially, mean the same thing?  That Brain is in GnR?  Otherwise, why would his drum tech be setting up his kit for rehersals?

Gersh is specifically Brain's drum tech, not GnR's. Although he is a friend of Tommy's too, so that's not to say that he wouldn't be GnR's if Brain left and they found a replacement, as he has other connections to the band (if you get me). As of that picture, it has been confirmed that it is Brain's drum kit and that he is still in GnR.

It has also been confirmed by various people that he will not be playing in San Francisco on May 12th but in New York with GnR as Pilferk has pointed out.

That's pretty much what I suspected...but I'm glad someone could actually confirm it for sure.

Where do you see that in the pic? I dont see anyone doing anything in concern to a rehearsal. A picture of drums does not prove anything about a rehearsal. If someone finds a pic of a guitar, and some tech guy is standing next to it with no one else around, does that prove rehearsals are taking place?

I think they will use the new gnr logo instead of that one on there drumset.. i dont think this image proves anything..

There isn't anyone at these forums confirming anything. I haven't seen Mysteron post in a while, and he isn't gonna say anything concrete with these shows around the corner, and everything else said by anyone is just pure speculation.

The pic was attributed to being from rehersals, so that's what I referred to it as.

It's proven (given the "phrase" on it) that it's a recent set up.

We know the band is currently in rehersals.

I guess there COULD be another reason for Brain's drum tech to set up a GnR drumkit.....and if you'd like to provide some speculative reasoning, go for it.  But no matter what reasoning you provide, it would sorta lead you down the path that Brain is still in GnR....

If you want some sort of proof it's from rehersal, you'd have to ask the person who initially made the claim it was from rehersals.? I'm simply using the terminology that's been established in the thread, and on the subject, so far.
