The Palace Brothers - Slow acoustic songs. Willie Nelson style vocals. (Thinks PJ's "Daughter" and "Elderly Woman..."

Elliot Smith - Same, emo acoustic. Guy ended up stabbing himself. Sung Miss Misery from Good Will Hunting.

Sebadoh - Ealier stuff was better, like 93's Baksale, don't go too early, made alot of home recordings. Funny though, I have 1 cd of theirs with over 40 songs on it, mostly experimenting on an acoustic with minute and a half songs. 90's indie band. Has solo stuff out now, Lou Barlow.

Silkworm - Indie band, singer has cool voice & style, nice guitar work too, alot of flat chords & drop tuning.

Worth checking into, not sure if it's what your looking for. Should be able to find samples on Myspace. If you're not into indie go check out Foo Fighters last album, I think 1 disc is rock & the other Acoustic. Them or The Eagles.
