" in the army now" ( status quo)

 vacation in a foreign land
Uncle Sam does the best he can
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Now you remember what the draftsman said
Nothing to do all day but stay in bed
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

You be the hero of the neighborhood
Nobody knows that you left for good
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Smiling faces as you wait to land
But once you get there no one gives a damn
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Hand grenades flying over your head
Missiles flying over your head
If you want to survive get out of bed
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Shots ring out in the dad of night
The sergeant calls (stand up and fight)
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

You've got your orders better shoot on sight
Your finger's on the trigger
But it don't seem right
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Night is falling and you just can't see
Is this illusion or reality
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Oh, oh, you're in the army now

Ill ad one.....

Ashes of The wake- ?Lamb Of God

Yes i know its a instrumental but the monologue really touches ... For people who dont like lamb of god you should still check this out because even though its a instumental most versions have the monologue and it says

We killed a lot of innocent civilians. To us every civilian in Baghdad was a terrorist. With them in civilian clothes that makes everybody free game. But if they came within our perimeter we lit them up and when we would pull the body out and search the car we would find nothing. This took place time and time again. No harm no foul. Its ok dont worry about it. This is a new type of war. This is an eradication. I honestly feel that we are committing genocide over here. I dont believe in killing civilians and I am not going to kill civilians for the United States Marine Corps

KISS - War Machine :D ;D :P

Wanna bite the hand that feeds me, wanna turn the tides
Set the demons free and watch 'em fly
Strike down the one who leads me, I'm gonna take his place
Gonna vindicate the human race
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine

Take the reins of power and seize them, draw the battle lines
Armageddon's just a matter of time
Tear down the voice of reason, let the arrows fly
Your freedom's just a state of mind, yeah

Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
You better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine

You better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
You better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine

Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
I'm a war machine, I'm a war machine

in addition to the great suggestions posted above

Motorhead~ 1916

16 years old when I went to war,
To fight for a land fit for heroes,
God on my side, and a gun in my hand,
Counting my days down to zero,
And I marched and I fought and I bled
And I died & I never did get any older,
But I knew at the time, That a year in the line,
Is a long enough life for a soldier,
We all volunteered,
And we wrote down our names,
And we added two years to our ages,
Eager for life and ahead of the game,
Ready for history's pages,
And we fought and we brawled
And we whored 'til we stood,
Ten thousand shoulder to shoulder,
A thirst for the Hun,
We were food for the gun,and that's
What you are when you're soldiers,
I heard my friend cry,
And he sank to his knees, coughing blood
As he screamed for his mother
And I tell by his, side,
And that's how we died,
Clinging like kids to each other,
And I lay in the mud
And the guts and the blood,
And I wept as his body grew colder,
And I called for my mother
And she never came,
Though it wasn't my fault
And I wasn't to blame,
The day not half over
And ten thousand slain,and now
There's nobody remembers our names
And that's how it is for a soldier.

You can't go wrong with Manowar.

War time songs that I can think of:

"For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield

"Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Glad you mentioned it, great song. As far as The Doors, how can everyone forget Unknown Soldier?
Wait until the war is over
And we're both a little older
The unknown soldier

Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Unborn living, living, dead
Bullet strikes the helmet's head

And it's all over
For the unknown soldier
It's all over
For the unknown soldier

Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Comp'nee
Halt
Preeee-zent!
Arms!

Make a grave for the unknown soldier
Nestled in your hollow shoulder
The unknown soldier

Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Bullet strikes the helmet's head

And, it's all over
The war is over
It's all over
The war is over
Well, all over, baby
All over, baby
Oh, over, yeah
All over, baby
Wooooo, hah-hah
All over
All over, baby
Oh, woa-yeah
All over
All over
Heeeeyyyy

These are more "protest songs" than "war songs." Except for KISS.

Guns n' Roses-The General.? just kidding.

i guess Queen's Is This The World We've Created? would work.

The Clash-English Civil War

most of Rage's songs could work, too.

AC/DC's This Means War?

Metallica's One

and that annoying WAR HUH?? GOOD GOD Y'ALL song.
