Well its been quite a while since these guys have been out there playing.. so who do you want to see live the most? [besides Axl of course!!!!] 

I wanna see Fortus. I really dig him and havent seen him with the band yet! 
{Paul huge was ok but he didnt impress me very much.. there are a ton of guitarists out there better than him. Hopefully he contributed in other ways because otherwise all the time was kind of wasted...}

Paul Huge?  No thankyou.  I would love to see Fortus again.  If the rumor of Izzy coming back is true would love to see him as well. 

Why do you hate Huge but love Fortus? We have heard Huge's contributions to CD. We haven't heard shit from Fortus. All the Fortus lovers raved on Fortus's "contributions" on the demos until they found out it was Huge.

Would love to see Buckethead and AXL, but since bucket had left, then it's AXL Rose.

Robin, I love robins playing, i think he is very underrated. Just listen to his work on TWAT, IRS and Better, he is realy good

The only fortus song was BETTER the rest were Huge. And I think Huge was not given enough credit, he hated playing live but ppl loved SFTD and the guitar work until they found out Huge was playing a lot of the solos and not slash. Huge is a good player but people hated him because of slash

i'd like to see izzy on stage if the rumour is true (although i am pretty sure it's not).

and i'd like to see the guys putting up a real rock n' roll show and connecting with the croud, proving that they are a real band and not "hired guns", like a lot of people say.

Since when it's confirmed it's Paul Huge and not Richard on the demos? I mean, IRS and Catcher sounds much like him, but TWAT and Better are not that clear to me.

IMO, Huge's work on SFTD was pretty good. He's a rhtyhm guitar player with a Izzy feel (I mean, it was not just power chords like Gilby).

In the order (besides Axl of course):

1) Richard
2) Brain
3) Dizzy
3) Robin
4) Tommy
5) Pittman

I also want to see the whole Richard-Robin guitar duet.

If any other original member comes back (possible Izzy) then them.

But as the current lineup of who we know in the band none of them really, we're all going to these shows to see Axl Rose not Guns N Roses as a band.

well I definitly an looking forward to seeing richard, as I ahve seen him outside GNR on numerous occasions and know what he can do, and how hard he rocks, people are GONNA be fucking surpirsed by the masn talent and sheer allout balls to the wall guitar playing .

Ive not seen so much of Robin, nor chris, but other members, like Dizzy, and tommy same holds true , I seen what they can do and are capible of .

But by far for me is really seeing RIchard step up cause I know he can!

Robin is amazing on stage. lot's of  presence and feeling, and Richard is has an outstanding guitar tone and feel. so those 2 will give a great show.

that's like....everyone? :hihi: The thing is, I've read so much about these guys since the 2002 tour...reviews....listening to bootlegs allmost everyday..........they kinda are THE guns now for like 6 years or more? I think it's pretty special most of them are still there of the new line-up. That kicks ass. They stick up for Axl and they are good musicians. Makes it special to see all those guys performing.

I'm always most excited to see the "old-schoolers" (Axl & Dizzy) first. Then Robin Finck.

I just want to see the band as a collective, entire unit working together to put music into my ears.  I'm sick(well not really, but you know what I mean) of seeing them individually, both live and in pictures and appearances.  We have one picture of 4 of them on steps outside a club in New York (or wherever the hell it was back in '02) and that's it as far as anyone seeing them as a group. 

With that being said, I'd say Robin just so I can see how to properly do the spider walk that I've been practicing the past four years.

I believe if this "suprise" is true and original members are coming back they wouldnt play at the warm up gigs, but Axl would keep the suprise for RIR. The shock would be much greater unveiled to all those thousands.

However a warm up show would be pointless in this case, warming up players that arnt playing on the tour. Unless.....

So lets get this straight. You are on record as saying that Chinese Democracy was in demo form until after Fortus arrived? That is fucking hilarious!! If that is the amount of progress that was made at that time, then this album isn't anywhere close to being finished. Funny how you and a few others will say anything and believe anything just so you can think that your hero Fortus is on the demos. He isn't. Its Paul Huge. Deal with it.

I never said it was in demo form untill richard arrives, learn to read. What I said is Richards guitar parts are on TWAT. You can either choose to live with it or continue to live in a fantasy world.

How do any of you know who is playing on the demos? I'd like to assume it's Richard, 'cause I like to hear the band in current form, but it wouldn't suck if it's Paul Huge. I thought he was pretty cool. But where have you all seen anyone close to GNR state who is playing on the demos?

Easy. Its called common sense. I'm sure you've heard these demos, and probably have the sense to admit that they're old. Do you think these demos were recorded from ?2002-2006? If true, then zero progress was made on CD during the years 1997-2002, and things started progressing when Fortus arrived, and there is still along way to go. if these demos are that new, then we can rule out 2006 as the year of release right now.

To me, the Better demo only sounds a year or two old, while the others sound several years old....

Catcher is easily from the late 90's, theres just something about Axl's vocals on that song that gives me the vibe it was recorded in the Oh My God era...

I would agree that better sounds like the newest of the bunch, although is most likely at least a few years old. The other songs have late 90's written all over them, not just CITR.

If I was a betting man, Id say that version of Better was recorded between 2001-02.

Originally I thought Catcher could have had Fortus on it, because that thundering rythym guitar riff right before the Na Na Na's, which seemed far more like his style than Paul Tobias, however Axl's vocals sound certainly dated.

TWAT is the hardest to tell if you ask me....

It could be Tobias or Fortus...to hard to distinguish on this one.

Id say it's older than Better, but I wouldnt put my money where my mouth is :P

I'm really looking forward to watching Robin. He puts SO much into his playing, Richard too for that matter. I guess if I had to norrow it down to one or the other I'd end up saying Richard.

I'll end up watching the two of them just as much as Axl though thats for sure!

One thing to remember: ?tracks do not, necessarily, need to be recorded all at the same time.

Which means Axl's vocals could be circa 2000, while the rhythm guitar track could be circa 2003, and the lead guitar track could be circa 1999 (all just examples, not guesses of actual recording times). ?

Then someone (I'd guess Axl) takes all the tracks and puts them together.

Which is what we've been hearing for quite some time.

All material is made and written in a collaborative way, its just that Axl is the one who is composing the songs piece by piece like some enormous jig-saw puzzle...

Occasionally he misplaces a piece or, a piece is just flat out missing, and thus the delays... :-\

Im looking forward to seeing Richard.  I think out of all the new guns he's the most intense.  To Me he seems the most Axl like on stage. 

Also looking forward to seeing Brain and Tommy and how they work together.

No matter who else is in or out of the band, I just hope they play new stuff, especially Better.

I think the days of hearing Jungle begin a Gn'R concert are behind us...

For some reason, all Ive been picturing happening on May 12th is all us Gunners absolutely going apeshit waiting for Gn'R to take the stage, and slowly as the curtain begins to raise, we'll hear the eerie Better intro....

I'm really looking forward to Fortus running and jumping around the stage, doing windmills and whatnot.  He's a high energy guy.

hey cool, it seems there are lots of Richard Fortus fans around here. Hope he will play with his baritone guitar, he said it sounds loud as hell... maybe he could play with this guitar on IRS or Better who knows?? :yes:?
