Title: starting time Post by: chinesedemocracy05 on April 28, 2006, 07:57:36 PM Ok, I wasnt a fan during 02 and I hav tix for hammerstein on the 15th I am SO excited, just got my tickets today. Just Curious what were start times like on previous tours, like in the UYI tour and 2002 tour, were GNR typically late, or were they just late to like a couple shows and the media flipped out about it. I'm really curious about this, anyone who has been to a Guns show please respond!!!!

Title: Re: starting time Post by: jarmo on April 28, 2006, 08:12:20 PM It was "Around 9:00PM" on the UYI tour..... :hihi:
/jarmo Title: Re: starting time Post by: tHeElEcTrIcSiNtAr on April 28, 2006, 08:30:12 PM Approximate starting time on the UYI tour was about 11 pm, sometimes even 12. The approximate starting time on the '02 tour was between 10 pm and 10:45 pm. MSG was the exception where they went on at 9:30 pm. So, probably expect it to be a late start. Who knows, maybe Axl will be a different man this time around. :hihi:
Title: Re: starting time Post by: tristanj13 on April 28, 2006, 09:04:11 PM I believe it was before 10 central time for the Chicago '02 show as well. IIRC around 9:45-9:50. Anyone who went remember?
Title: Re: starting time Post by: smeagol2124 on April 28, 2006, 10:21:27 PM Well, the warm up show in Vegas prior to Rio, they came on at 3:20 AM ish........ :hihi:
I do believe there are some pretty stringent union rules in NYC, and I think if shows go past midnight it gets really really expensive for the performer. Title: Re: starting time Post by: GnR-NOW on April 28, 2006, 10:51:59 PM i hope he goes on around 8:30-9 but we ll see
Title: Re: starting time Post by: Briggsy on April 28, 2006, 11:06:10 PM at least 1 to 2 hours after the scheduled time ;)
so since it says 7:30 for the NYC shows, it will be about 9:00 when Axl hits the stage Title: Re: starting time Post by: TheDave0206 on April 28, 2006, 11:06:51 PM The union rules in NYC actually kick into action at 11-- Pearl Jam spent something like 40 k at MSG for going past this time. Dream Theater truncated their show a great deal to get done at 11:01 and that was being shot for a DVD and was there 20th Anniversary show. It's not an arena to arena thing either, apparently it its every place in NYC
Title: Re: starting time Post by: Briggsy on April 28, 2006, 11:19:05 PM ^well thats more or less becuase people shouldn't be out in NYC past mid-night, it's just not a smart thing to do :nervous:

Anyways, if those shows have to end at 11 and he doesnt take the stage until 9:30 or later that would suck major ass...I want a 2 hour plus show... Title: Re: starting time Post by: JDA on April 29, 2006, 01:53:29 AM When I saw them in Minneapolis and Fargo they were on around 10:30. In 93 they came on around 10.

Anyways, if those shows have to end at 11 and he doesnt take the stage until 9:30 or later that would suck major ass...I want a? 2 hour plus show... You forget that once Axl's on stage, he's the boss. If he decides to leave after one song, there's no stopping him. If he decides to play one hour longer, after curfew time, there's no stopping him. He's still Axl after all. :) Title: Re: starting time Post by: mick on April 29, 2006, 07:11:28 AM ^well thats more or less becuase people shouldn't be out in NYC past mid-night, it's just not a smart thing to do :nervous: Why's that? ??? Didn't he extend one of the '02 Europe gigs past "curfew"? I thought I remembered a little rant on a bootleg (can't remember which one now) about this.... The show usually starts around seven We go on stage around nine Get on the bus about eleven Sippin' a drink and feelin' fine And then this probably tell us why he is late all the time: I get up around seven Get outta bed around nine And I don't worry about nothin' no Cause worryin's a waste of my...time He is not even up from the bed when the show is supposed to begin !! Title: Re: starting time Post by: russtcb on April 29, 2006, 08:58:15 AM Ok, I wasnt a fan during 02 and I hav tix for hammerstein on the 15th I am SO excited, just got my tickets today. I actually made betting squares for my friends and I and the pot is over $100 right now and it's still two weeks on from the show! My bet stands on 9:45.....and for the record, Axl will play past whatever curfew they try to set on him. Title: Re: starting time Post by: TOPGUNner on April 29, 2006, 09:30:56 AM Doesn't it say somewhere like on the Hammerstein website or something that the doors open at 7:30 and the show is at 9? That's not to say Uncle Axl is hitting the stage at 9, but I thought I read that somewhere. I could be crazy. SO FUCKING CRAAAAZZYYY :hihi:
Title: Re: starting time Post by: Speed Stone on April 29, 2006, 09:31:23 AM has anyone given any thought to the fact that this is actually the 3rd emergence of axl rose we are about to witness? first in 86/87, then in 2002, now in 2006 8) this is history in the making, baby! i think that's cool as hell :smoking: good times!

I can't remember if it lists a show time, but in any case, thats the usual start time for the headliner when doors are 7:30. More importantly, didn't the MSG show end around midnight...? I can remember walking out of the show, but not the actual time. We get that all the time here in Detroit too. I don't know which city is overall "less safe" but I do know that *EVERYTHING* is closed in Detroit by about 2:30-3am and from what I've heard alot of things are 24-7 in NYC. I've gotta assume that more people are out in the early morning hours there then here. Title: Re: starting time Post by: Barbie567 on April 29, 2006, 11:21:48 AM The bars close at 4 - what else is there to know?

Word...The city doesn't even start hopping until 11 or so which is when most of the clubs open. Ah, it's good to be a New Yorker. I will never leave this state o' mine (and by state I mean NYC and Long Island, upstate New York doesn't count....damn boondocks) Title: Re: starting time Post by: Sillything on April 29, 2006, 03:55:09 PM I've seen them two times and they were on time.
