OK guys,   I want to spare many of you time and patience writting in several topics about VR next album,  VR members relations and their relations to AXL,  guys producing VR new album and etc...
Since I was coming here several times a day checking out the news,  this is the only fair way.
I have met several musicians the other day who know a lot about GNR,  VR and many other bands and here is what they say -  Velvet Revolver will NOT release another record as their members have already boarded different bands.
Nevertheless,   Slash and Matt Sorum are in the same band.
Duff is in Alice in Chains and I didn't ask where Dave and Scott are (most probably bussy with his solo work)...
The official statement will come before mid May.
I am really sad that they blew away another good band after Snakepit,  though,  it seems that several people in the music scene get along better than we ever thought...

Thats grounbreaking news considering yesterday Duff was on Opie and Anthony's XM Show saying that the new album is great and FLAT OUT SAID that Slash has NOT left the band.. (he elaborated about that rumor and the one of him being in rehab... both complete B.S. and comical to him)

- Buckethead and Tommy don't like each other so it can't be him
- Gilby and Dave Navarro are with Supernova so it can't be them
- Zakk is touring with Ozzy & BLS in black label society so it can't be him
- So i would say Izzy...Cuz ya know Richard quit cuz Axl made him take the tour dates off his site. And Izzy has been talking with Axl

Also of note....Matt did recommend Robin and Robin is rumored to be the 3RD guitarist....if Izzy and Slash are back then he'd definately be #3

Croatia's sources are probably good.? That was the mostly likely scenario just a few weeks ago.? (And not that Slash and Matt were joining Axl, just that VR had fractured into Scott and Duff, and Matt and Slash.? Although from what I hear, Matt wasn't even really supporting Slash, either, as long as Perla was still in the picture).?

However, things now seem to be back on track, mostly likely because Slash has finally ditched Perla.? At least for now.?

Thus for the first time in weeks, Slash was actually mentioned by name as a member of VR in an interview.? (The other interviews just said that Duff and Scott were writing and that the band was expecting to go into the studio -- no specific mention of Slash).

Duff saying Slash is still a member of VR.

BP's recent article saying, through a "source close to Slash" that he's not involved in CD or the current GnR tour in any way.? Turned out that same article talked about the Perla issues, so......it seems at least moderately credible, at least.

Recent emails from Richard confirming he's still in the band (circa April 23rd).

Guitarist always seemed to be the most reliable sources in the former GNR line up.
So far,  everything I said (I was told), has been confirmed -

1)  Duff is being named as bass player in the AIC line up (strange,  I was just over at their site and saw that their tour is getting more and more lengthy ???  how is Duff suppossed to find time to record another VR album?  It has been almost 2 years since the debute came out and nothing is happening!?).

2)  At the time I opened this topic,  everyone was talking about Slash hating everyone in VR.
I was told that Slash and Matt have entered an band together.
Where ever you hear of Slash,  Matt seems to be a part of that,  yet,  no sign of Duff,  Scott or Dave!?

Either way I win.
If VR continue,   I will still have and band around that I think of as - GREAT!
Band that Axl's guys,  RHCP or anyone else in the english speaking scene is no match to,  at the moment.

If I was told the truth,  I'll be prooven right (which I don't a fuck about,  like many of you kids here do.  It is an rather unimportant thing to be right or wrong since everyone can think differently, yet,  only complexed kids think it is important they are right due to lack of selfesteem),  I will be rather sad to loose such a great band and my gain would only be worth a - minus!
Minus for the loss of this great band.

Don't know why everyone got stuck with Slash and Matt joining Axl.
That is not what I read when I open up the first page of this topic.
I do read SAME band and Duff IN AIC,  though.
p.s.   I hope something will be said at that radio thing Matt and Slash are doing.

The new band members are not very good.  I played some of the live stuff from Robin for a girl and didn' tell her what it was--she said, "That's not good. Sorry if you like it but whoever it is sucks"

If you listen to the new Axl band and GNR right after eachother or even at the same time, you'd think robin, richard, and bukt were a garage band from myspace or YOUTUBE.

Having actually BEEN in attendance on the 15th (and the boot from that show that's being torrented in FLAC from dankrass will back this up) the band was fucking TIGHT all night long.

Actually for the most part I felt it was the same with 2002 boots as well....axl's talent hasn't diminished at all and the band is, for the most part, good at playing the old songs. there are a few exceptions of course.

But Robin was a bit less comfortable with some of the solos in '02. SCOM and NR being the prime examples.  Maybe it was intentional (he wanted to give them his own style), maybe not.  But for the Hammerstein show, I would have sworn he'd hired a medium to channel the admittedly still living Slash.  Sounded just like him...at least on the 15th. No flubs, no missing notes, just Robin rocking the SHIT out of those solos like he'd been playing them forever.

You know I was prolly one of the most skeptical htgth member of Robin but all this excitement truely has me intrigued...I can't wait to see Robin an GnR again when they come my way so i can witness this band again for myself :peace: Really I am so excited right now for the future of GnR i am having a hard time even keeping on the "I hate Robin" side, I haven't felt this excited about GnR since I was waiting for the Paris PPV to start in1992.

AXL's talent hasn't deminished?

I still loved him back in 02 but wondered why his voice sounded so different on The Blues and MADA-. Thought maybe beacuse it was live and he was having vocal problems during the tour.

When I heard the actual demmo of IRS I was crushed!! 

The only knock on him by mainstream music critics and fans was that his voice was too screechy and got hard to listen to after awhile--especially as the fans aged.

It's obviouse Axl took this critisism too seriously and whimped out his voice----There is no way anyone can say it sounds the same!!! 

Also what the hell was that Rhiad and the Bedoins???  That sounded like a bad comedy album from the 1960's.
Tell me how great the lyrics to that song and IRS are compared to everything else he's done.

I wish the new sound was cool, I wish I could like it,  But it will bomb in the U.S.  It may sell 4-5 million on curiosity alone but the later albums will fail once poeple hear these songs -It sounds like a wannabe-pinkfloyd meets modern pop rock band.

Maybe there is something up with VR and maybe there isn't. Slash got on Camp Freddy Radio with Matt and denied all of the rumors. However, Slash seems to me like an extremely private person so he may have held a few things back. Seems to me like there are always personal problems in every band between the members. I doubt that VR is any different. I remember how it was with Sammy Hagar and VH. One month Eddie and Alex are singing Sammy's praises and the very next month I hear on the radio that Sammy was out of VH. The VH bros were talking shit about Sam saying that he quit and Sammy's saying in interviews that he was fired. Who knows? I guess what I'm trying to say is that you never really know what's up with a band unless you're an insider who knows one or more of the band members.

But since VR has broke up you won't get to do that right?

See, I actually believe you chatted with them and they might have even said something along those lines... A Hungarian fan who met and talked with Gilby's band after the show told the same story... So GNR-CROATIA didn't made up anything, he got some info that...well, turned out to be untrue.

I still think something has happened between Axl's and Slash's camp (but something went wrong). Very different soures mentioned the reunion in the past 8-9 months.

So, now that we know this was all bullshit, as I said I suspected in the first place (and GnR-Croatia very nastily protested against)...can we just let the thread die?

I repeat it: a Hungarian fan talked to Gilby's band after the Hungarian show and he was told (well, not by Gilby, but his drummer) that Slash and Matt had returned to GN'R.
