something that has been annoying me for a bit, is what axls tattos on his left wrist, and also on his leg?? this may be an old issue, but does anyone know or can anyone post pictures of them. thax

the tattoo on his wrist is a chain of skulls.  i've seen pictures but i don't have one to post, sorry.
i've never seen the one on his leg up close......i've heard people speculate that it is a dragon...buy i can't say for sure.

All i know is that on one of his arms he has the Appetite cross with all the skulls of the memebers

Just wondered if anyone knew when he got them?

i once heard (from maximum gnr an audio biography thingy) that his first ever tattoo was a total bodge up n he keeps it hidden away most of the time, does anyone know where it is?

The one that got missed up was his first The Rocker. He had it fixed as soon as he got the money. A friend bought the first for him and he later returned the favor. Anyway thats what I remember reading

It's still there.  Not blacked out at all.  If he wanted to do something to it, he would probably get it removed, not black it out.   :)

I thought it looked darker in the pic I was looking at from the VMA's too, but I could definitely still make out the hair on the skulls, but the faces looked darker.? So I can't think what he would have done to it, just blacked out the faces?? Maybe someone has a recent pic where you can see it clearly?

In my opinion tattoos only look good on famous people. When I see Axl,I think "Wow,that looks cool",but when I see a tattooed guy on the street I think "What the fuck was he thinkin'?"

Mind if I put in my opinion. Tattoo's are not always suppose to be pretty to look at, and they can be very beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And many tattoo's are very personal and to the wearer it only matters to them what it looks like. Be openminded about such things! MadManDan, this isn't directed at you, just wanted to share. I have several tattoo's and find it offensive when people get rude or ask the famous ?? Why. The answer is simple if you don't know the answer I can't give you one!!

in alot of cases i agree with what you're saying.. but i do agree w/ what madmandan is saying when i see people just getting tattoos out of a book at the shop just because it looks cool..

if its something original and/or it means something to the person, then it is art.. but when its just those barbed wire/tribal markings around the biceps, a rose on a boob, etc, its just dumb.. its not original, its not personal, its not meaningful..

Ok, not to get off topic or anything, but I have a rose by my boob tattoo, as well as a barbed wire tattoo on my bicep. So I'm un-original. NOT. Not everyone goes out and gets these "typical" tattoos just because everyone else has them. I happen to like roses very much, and have 5 tattoos with roses. And they all mean something to me. As far as the bicep one, that means something to me as well. As do my other 20 tattoos. True, there are people that go out and get certain tattoos just because. But it's not everyone that does it.

Christina, if thats what you want and it mean something to you then thats all that matters. I don't even like rose's and I ended up with 2. Because they were the point I was trying to make. I have a blue rose and guns and I also have a red rose with a peace symbol, I wanted it to mean peace and love. And the other is pretty plain to figure out.

Axl has not had this covered up or does he sit putting marker on his arm. Tttaoos get darker with age. Black turns to green this is due to the skin re-generating.

Black turns to green?? Only if you are still using crap ink and if you are I feel sorry for you. Ya they will darken, lighten or fade. I think  the problem with that tattoo, is he has redone it to many times. Which I never could figure out. He never gets any sun to fade them.

I think Slash's tat on his shoulder is a pic of Michelle from "My Michelle" she was like a groupie that no one liked wasn't she? And she begged and begged for them to write a song about her cuz Axl wrote SCOM about Erin. So they wrote My Michelle, I don't think it was what she had in mind :hihi:

I don't if he had any recolored...we know he has new ones..there is one on his leg but I have yet to see a close up of that pic.   

As far as I can see on the boots from 2002 and pic he hasn't had the cross blackened, it's fuzzy now and fade most likely, that is a pretty old tat.

That '92 interview Axl did with Rolling Stone had some awesome black and white pics of his tatts - the rose one above the girl on his right arm - looks so cool close up.

God I love tattoes.   hope he doesnt black out the AFD cross - it would be a shame as for what it stands for.

It's not Gina, unless she dyed her hair. I have an old picture off Google that's supposed to be of the two of them and she's got short blond hair and thin lips. Looks nothing like the chick on his arm. But hey, maybe the pic was mislabeled.

I still think the girl on Axl's arm is just an unnamed fling, or possibly Barbie von Grief, the inspiration for 'Rocket Queen'. Axl did say she "kept [him] alive for a while" and was a very close friend, until she faded out due to drugs.

It's definitely not Gina Siler. I've read an article that includes a fairly extensive summary of their relationship, how they met etc, and there's no mention of Izzy other than him being among Axl's group of close friends at the time.

Tattoo colours fade in years!!!especialy if they are exposed to sunlight!!they fade with age, if you want to keep the colour you have to get it recoloured.he hasnt had it blackened

watch the making of "Dont Cry"  Axl talks all about it , and his relationship with Michelle.  Michelle broke it off with Axl cause she knew it wasn't gonna work, and she had other direction.  He quotes, that he sat down in front of the Roxy and started to cry,  that is what inspired the second version of  the song.

I don't think the tattoo was blackened. I have several tattoos and they all faded a bit over the years. I'm 26, so it's safe to say Axl had his cross tattoo a lot longer than I had any of mine, plus it's on his forearm and therefore more exposed to the sun. Just my 2 cents....  :peace:

About the woman tattoo I've have found something on this page...here compare the tattoo with Angela Nicoletti, ex Izzy's girlfriend..but I don't know if it's true...this looks like just a gossip page and I don't think it's well-founded...

People have different tastes though, about what's cool and what's not but I agree.

Oh yeah, i know people have different tastes, but i just dont understand why anyone would want something on them for life which isnt unique... in doing that, hes just imitated Axl. But not just axl. All the other fans who have done the same. Same with the Contraband chick, (if its where I think it is) hes imitated Slash and all the fans that have done that also, so it just keeps going up.

If you watch the ROck at Rio 3, you can clearly tell that the cross tattoo has been blacked out. I initially thought he had it covered with other tat ink, but later in 2006 saw that in fact it's still there. I'm of the theory that he probably did take a magic marker to it as a statement to show that the old guys are no longer a part of the band or his life. But if you watch that show, and subsequent 2002 shows, you'll see it's been covered up. This isn't the case of a tattoo that got old and started deteriorating, and then had it touched up. It wouldn't have been possible by the amount of black that covered it up.

This is how rumors get started - not only that, but you are already passing judgement without knowing if it is true

If you even botherd to look at any pictures taken in 2006 you can clearly see that it's not the case.
