the whole godamn idea of it is so fucking retarded and this year, my last year, of high school i consider going and im about to ask this girl that i extremely like who just broke up with her cocky dip shit scum bag spoiled jok boy friend and i see them talking in the hallway and that just pissed me off. i mean, yeah, she flirts with me alot but she's also kinda outta my leuge so i don't know. i hate this guy she used to go out with so much ahhh i hate him. im just gonna suck it up and ask her tommorow. the worst she can do is say no.

Why "fucking prom"?  It's giving you an excuse to ask the girl out... and if she says no, you still get to go off and get drunk with your friends.   : ok:

I say ask the chick out .And if she says no then go to a stripe club instead of prom .Cause then you have a sad story to tell about the hole thing ,which will get you cheaper lap dances .And maybe a little more. ;)

Well my friend... prom is great times... i didnt think so highly of it... got my sister to drive me... and had the best time of my life with my girls! i went alone and had the most amazin night of my life... enjoy it with your friends and dont worry about going with a girl!

The Prom is not a school dance, its a fuckin EVENT!

Gettin dressed in a tux, rolling up in style, hanging with all your friends for one of the last few times, just dancing and partying like a motherfucker.

I was rockin a cane at my prom and dancin with it and just screamin along to songs.

There was a chick at my  prom from Sweden and she was a huge Bon Jovi fan, everyone begged me to karaoke a Bon Jovi song to her but I didnt.

I wish I had but back then I wasnt very confident in my voice but That wouldve been a cool memory had i done it.

same here. but we don't have as strong traditions to those things as americans do I guess.
I got drunk with people from school every weekend anyways. I didn't wanna spend any money on those dances and shit, and I hate dressing up.

Thank God we dont have prom here, we just travel to any part in the world get tons of alcohol (underage of course) and get up 2 days later with a hangover  :beer:

My prom was all right, the after party was all right... But I had to have one of my parents next door in case I caused any trouble, in case they decided that, actually, they didn't want me there. (... For the prom. Not the after party......) About ten of us did. Originally we weren't allowed to go at all. But hey, you know the persistance of pre-prom girls............. The teachers relented. It wasn't anything like it sounds, the only time I actually saw my dad that night was when he was giving me money afterwards... But still, I guess it isn't a great memory, having to have an escort for the prom..................................

But hey, it's 'the prom.' Nobody gives a shit about it over here. For the most part probably because, as far as I know, our schools don't go all out for it. Yes it was nice, yes the meal was all right... But I know few, if any, people that live in this country and would class it as one of the most memorable nights of their youth, let alone their lives. It's remembered more as a fond memory of the closing part of full time education. And nothing more.

the way we celebrated here was that we went around in coloured overalls, colour depending on which school and class you graduated from. so yeah, we went around shitfaced in those clothes for 2 weeks straight. that's pretty awesome, hundreds of hammered teenagers the same age, rambling around town. tons of parties everywhere, and shitloads of people in the clubs, pubs and bars.
at some point there even was like a big festival like thing in my town where all graduates from all over my side of the country came to town, the festival thing is only for the graduation. it lasted for a weekend.
was thousands of people in coloured overalls fucking about the town hammered.

the girl i wanna go with is to "sweet" to get to drunk, which i dont mind. she's adorable.

I guess proms are fun. They can be very expensive though. I think people try to out do one another with the limos and dresses, etc..
