They dont tell you that story in primary school...?? I got told it was because Jesus is born to eternal life and gives people new life. (aka eternal life in heaven) The egg is a symbol of life, as is the chick (as in chicken). People used to give chicks and then little eggs and it gradually changed into chocolate eggs!!!
