Title: Probably nothing, BUT
Post by: faldor on April 13, 2006, 09:56:42 PM
Driving home tonight listening to Sirius satellite radio, Buzzsaw 19 (plays classic rock).  It's So Easy came on and after it finished the DJ, Rockin' Robin I believe she calls herself.  She said forget about the rumors that the old band (minus Adler) is reuniting.  She said that she knows for a FACT that Chinese Democracy is coming out REAL soon and that tour dates could be announced as early as Monday.

Now I have no idea how credible Rockin' Robin is.  I assume she knows that GNR is already lined up to play a bunch of dates this summer so these supposed tour dates would be U.S. dates?  Take it for what it's worth, which is probably nothing.  But we can dream, can't we?

I'll ask around.  I don't think I know anyone at Sirius, though.  However, now that I think about it.. I do know someone who knows someone that works there.  I'll drop an email.. can't hurt.

Yeah maybe check out the sirius website, I'm sure Rockin' Robin has an e-mail address there.  Not sure if she would divulge any info, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Well the guy I'm thinking of has a brother that works there.. in some sort of production capacity.  (I'm not sure of the details).  I've fired off an email.. we'll see if anything comes of it.

I know this is old news now but apparently that DJ did know what she was talking about last night on Sirius.  I e-mailed her last night and she got back to me today.  Here's the reply.  Really nothing new but nonetheless.

This time it's for real!!!  Axl and his hired hands will be playing 2 shows in
the U.S that I know of.  They have announced that they will play the
Hammerstein Ballroom in New York May 15th and May 17th.  Tickets go on sale
Next Friday at Ticketmaster.  I'm not sure when they will announce other U.S.
shows.

As  far as Chinese Democracy goes, it's been mastered and Axl's management told
me that it will be released very soon.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for dropping me a line.

All my best,
Robyn

Holy shitsky.

The mastering part....she could have added that in....but still, sounds very interesting.  I'm getting way too excited today.  Must. Calm. Down.

It's a good thing it's a slow day at work today  :hihi:

Didn't mention the Mastering part in this one.  I'm not convinced it's actually mastered.
