You cant sue for an album title. And who cares if they stole the title, they are a no named band and no one even knows of this album.

there are many people who have released the title Chinese Democracy and no the album title isn't copyrighted, so it really doesn't matter.

im pretty sure axl would be extremely pissed off if the dogshit boys - chinese democracy sold a hell of a lot of copies before his chinese democracy comes out

Didn't G'nR give The Offspring a cease and desist when they were call splinter Chi Dem?

I think there was legal pressure... in any event, they are a lot bigger than the Dogshit Boys.  Wasn't that album released in September 05?

I just think Axl didn't care because the Dogshit Boys aren't as big as the Offspring... or maybe his copyright protection of the name (if he has it) only exists in the United States... the Dogshit Boys released the album in Finland.

Either way it's a lame ass puplicity stunt in an attempt to gain cheap publicity.

i really dont like the name "chinese democrasy" its just not Guns n roses. axl should just  get a new name for the cd. but i think its a lil too late for that.they should change the name to "blast from the past" or "always rock n rolling".

I think he should call it "Sgt. Axl's Weekly Changing Band"  : ok:

HAHAHAAHAHAHAH always rock n rolling.. WOW... lol.. JEESe.. i cant get enough of it..

Here a good one, "barbershop- GNR Style" lol..

no really though a good title would have to follow along the lines of AFD and UYI... so my pick would be something that applies to the bang.. Guns N Roses- (in honor of the site) "Hell and Back.." or something like that..

Or we can always go the "Appetites Change, but illusion's stay the same"

lol i have a feeling i might just get laughed at next  :hihi:

Chinese Democracy is essentially an entity unto itself now. In the music world, it is synonomous with Guns, Mystery and a long wait

ok "always rock and rolling" was a bad example.i just randomly thought of that.but i found a good one.this one isnt that bad. its "rebirth" that makes sence cuz the whole band is new. except fro some.so there made again.with new members.

you can't coopyright/trademark an album title (or song title for that matter). the offspring could've called their album chinese democracy had they really wanted to and axl couldn't have done shit about it.

there are a few bands with albums called Chinese Democracy. who cares? it's not like axl came up with the title himself. i know a book by that name has been out since 1986. not saying that's where he got it, but it's probable.

They did but it didn't really matter.  They had no legal ground to stop them.

the album should be called 'the returning moodswings of billy bailey'
