Title: an article about Scott
Post by: avesia on March 28, 2006, 04:32:15 PM
I found this on www.velvetrevolverforum.com

from ::Musician Worldy Canada

Scott Weiland, the singer of USA super group Velvet Revolver, came clean to us over a three day interview. He discussed his new clothing line , and eating issues and how the new Velvet Revolver album has an almost disco feel to it. The album is yet untitled but due to hit shelves later this year..The rocker admitted to battling with image issues and a borderline eating disorder, said since he got clean he has been seeking help for it, which many lyrics on the new album discuss. He declined the interview to be published, but says he will put it on his web site shortly.

I think the image issues refer to the luftwaffe hats which Scott seemed to be obsessed with for quite awhile.

I wont judge the songs before I hear them, but I cant imagine Slash and Duff doing pure disco, so maybe it will have more groove, but it will surly have a rocking edge to it..

 :o

Had Slash heard CD and felt that disco beats would do good?  :-\

I wouldn't have problem with a danceable album (in Santana terms), but some disco feel... Scott's solo album had some, that was good for him, but now we're talking about a band with Slash and Duff...

A ?disco-feel? sounds good to me. Kind of like Marilyn Manson?s ?Mechanical Animals? in some respects. This new material sounds really groove-based, but I?m sure it will also rock hard. Can?t wait to hear it!

"Disco" doesn't mean TRANCE or anything like that in this case, I guess it's kinda something that Led Zeppelin did too.
Scott seems to be saying everything these days. I don't judge their next album untill I've heard it.

calm down peeps

Im guessing this album is going to have a more groove orientated, glamish rock sound

and that sounds just fine - dont worry, Slash will bring the rock  ::)

Can you imagine the comments if this was in the GN'R section and it was Axl who was bringing out the clothing line..

"the new Velvet Revolver album has an almost disco feel to it" doesn't mean it's going to be a Bee Gees or KC and the sunshine band record.. Some people need to get a grip...  I would say "Always On The Run" has a disco feel to it and that song kicks ass........

Disco feel huh.  I can't see Slash going along with a typical disco-like album.

I personally could give  afuck if axl seels seashells by the seashore as long as he released CD first.... If it was the other way around then I would be like he has time for clothes but not music

you could go on forever,,, :hihi: I would say they fucking don't communicate..  My opinions on them being  a band or not really doesn't need to be persuaded by lack of communication.

I already said I think the different talks are fucked up..

yeah, I think I know exacly what Scott means with daying disco feel.
but so everyone who's afraid they get more experimental (I wouldn't mind) gets it, he might wanna rephrase it to "groove" or something like that.

Edit: every person in the band probably has new and different inspiration sources these days, so maybe the way one of them play their own instrument is kinda influenced by "dancable music".
I for one would love to hear Sorum playing with a little more bounce.
