Title: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Markus Asraelius on March 27, 2006, 04:03:00 PM I used to go to a place called MLBCenter and from there they have a way that a single user can only post once every 25 seconds or so.
And, I was thinking woulden't that be a great way to automatically control the pests that come on here and start something? I mean maybe not 25 seconds but maybe more like 45 seconds or so. Yea but that would suck for the regulars on the board. Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Mr. Dick Purple on March 27, 2006, 04:48:43 PM I dont know I post something on bad obssesion and then I have to wait until 25 sec to post in other thread is too much, I've seen a few boards with that and is very boring.
Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: jarmo on March 27, 2006, 04:57:49 PM Good!
Maybe it means you're posting too much if 25 seconds feels like an eternity.... /jarmo Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Mr. Dick Purple on March 27, 2006, 04:59:39 PM Yeah but remember that bad obssesion is not the only part of the forum, nor the jungle nor dead horse, nor GNR so on and so on.

Open topic -> Read first post -> Reply! There in lies your problem, not the allowed time between posting........ Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Mr. Dick Purple on March 27, 2006, 05:04:35 PM Oh yeah you think that that in ex-gunners you have like 3 pages to read sometimes is just 1 or 3 posts. Ah ok was just a suggestion you can do whatever you want. Nevermind whatever I say :P
Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Jim on March 27, 2006, 05:14:11 PM Well, not really. Because you didn't actually suggest anything! Twennty five seconds is ridiculous in as far as not only is there no reason that it should become an annoyance, but it doesn't solve anything either!
Case solved, day done. Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Markus Asraelius on March 27, 2006, 05:25:22 PM Well, not really. Because you didn't actually suggest anything! I was just bringing up the 25 second rule as an example. It could be like a 45-60 second rule or something like that. You would be suprised at how fast some people can type out posts. I actually think it sounds like an interesting idea. But then again, I don't know how much trouble it really is, people posting crap like that one guy did the other day. It doesn't seem like it happens that often. Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: badapple81 on March 28, 2006, 04:59:06 AM Surely by the time you finish in one thread, go to another and read the previous post etc and think about a response, that would be a good minute anyway!
Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Skeletor on March 28, 2006, 06:58:00 AM This other board I go to has the one minute posting rule / delay. I've not _once_ had it tell me "you can't post yet", except for the one time I tested to see if it actually works. It is handy for spammers though.

Woah, wait a minute! We're supposed to think before we post?!?! :nervous: Looks like I'm going to have to start a list like Earl Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: mikegiuliana on March 28, 2006, 06:51:44 PM flood control.... Never liked the idea, but as long as it's reasonable like 25 second then it's cool.. I remember mygnr was 70 seconds
Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: Skeba on March 29, 2006, 12:57:17 AM Even 60-70 seconds shouldn't be too long..
Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo! Post by: mikegiuliana on March 29, 2006, 03:36:41 AM Even 60-70 seconds shouldn't be too long.. It's fine if you can begin to type your message but can't post it for that amount of time.. Sometimes it only takes a second to read something during a debate or whatever and you want to reply but each time you do it, it tells you you have to wait Title: Re: Suggestion For Jarmo!
