Do u think GNR should always open with WTTJ? if not what?

Actually I prefer it if they opened with whatever they feel like, you know, take a vibe reading of the crowd from the previous acts show (like during the start of the UYI tours when they had songs like Perfect Crime as opener.)

I voted "No", despite the fact that WTTJ remains a great opener.

But I'd like them to open with a new track, something like "Chinese Democracy" :peace:

I dont think it should be an opener. I liked it during the first leg of the UYI tour and Jungle was played in the middle or towards the end. I would rather it be something new. I think Double talkin Jive would be a cool opener. The band starts out jamming, and then Axl walks out there and starts to sing. It would get the crowd riled up. Its so Easy was always a cool opener also.

I'd like a thing like this:

1) open with WTTJ

OR

2) open with C.D. and other 2 new songs, then play WTTJ

i voted no because i would like them to open with something new.
sure wttj is a great opener but it's not the only one. i'd like the opener to be cd or some new song that starts heavy.
and it's nice to have a change now and then.

WTTJ is "the perfect opening song" , and PC is perfect for closing a set, sometimes I think they almost wrote those songs for that purpose..   ;D  , but to renew themselves a bit I hope they try something different this time..

I think gnr have to open shoew with some old song,apetite or illusion,and first 2-3 songs have to be old songs

I love Welcome to the Jungle, but it would be refreshing to hear one of the new songs first.

I don't think that it should always be opened with WTTJ but it should always close with Paradise City.  But Jungle must be played in the concert.

Perfect crime or Right next door to hell would be cool

Since I have never been to a GN'R show before, I would love it if they started of with WTTJ! I can just imagine myself standing in the front of the stage and hearing the intro to that song - amazing!  :yes:

i prefer to see nighttrain open up and save WTTJ for later on in the show, it worked well for the live era shows

I think they should open with a cover of 'Raining Blood' by Slayer....

nah but in all seriousness I would personally love Its So Easy or Mr. Brownstone.  But I in the end I really do think they should open with WTTJ since its a song that everybody recognizes.

Better is a good choice and this way people could decide if it will become a instant classic but im seeing TWAt... its heavy enough and i like the lyrics but thats my opinion .... i would still like to see the old stuff

Axl won't have the balls to open with something his new band did

NO, GNR should never open with JUNGLE,
it was originally written at a slower speed (watch a 1986 live show)
the song's tempo was speeded up when recorded for the APPETITE record
it is now a lil too fast for AXL to sing strongly
and although on record it is an amazing song
I have always felt live the song is a struggle for AXL vocally
not a very good way to start a show
always liked ITS SO EASY as the opener

I agree that it is a very tough song to sing vocally... however it is one of the most recognizable and get's the crowd going fucking nuts early. That's good to do on festivals.

I dont think they should always open with Jungle, as said, its opening is perfect for opening festivals and its one of their most well known, once they have their foot in the door so to speak, and are becoming a separate entity, they can choose a few tracks which can all become staple openers like they used to do.

I mean I would prefer they opened with the track from Chinese Democracy that has the longest instrumental intro.. something with a good drum beat for a bit, or something with a build up in the beginning, I would love that. However, at the festival 80% of the crowd will most likely just be casual music fans and may not have came their soley for Gnr... so opening with WTTJ would be a quick attention grabber. : ok:
