Title: Guns "&" Roses Post by: speed_stone on March 26, 2006, 10:01:53 AM i'm sure alot of you have noticed (since 2002) how the new gnr logo actually says "G&R", and the same with this new logo, and certain festival promoters are listing the band as "guns & roses" (even though i'm sure this could be a mistake, most still list them as "guns n' roses", and that's the name axl owns too), so how do you feel about this? i think it's ok that he wants to make this something different, also in writing, but do you think they will use "G&R" for other purposes than touring, like on the album cover? it's anyone's guess, but feel free to add thoughts on this!
Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: DazRose85 on March 26, 2006, 10:16:14 AM It's still "GUNS N' ROSES". Anything with "G&R" is just an arty thing for the sake of that type of font... if that makes any sense?!

Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Jeramy on March 26, 2006, 01:31:33 PM it sounds like one of them could've been really drunk in the old days and slurred 'guns and roses' so it came out all together 'guns n roses' .... probably slash, i could see that happening, lol? :hihi:

I'm pretty sure the band have been called by both names since the beginning.
If you look on the official GnR web site the logo clearly shows a 5 point star with G&R + guns n Roses (guns is written with a lower case 'g' and roses written using a capital 'R' - v.odd). http://www.gnronline.com/ Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: jimb0 on March 26, 2006, 02:12:05 PM Guns N'Roses/Guns & Roses it's pretty much a much of a muchness. Actually i don't knnow why, but I didn't like the & in the name. But they still put the N' below it. Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Megaguns on March 26, 2006, 03:42:42 PM a friend of mine had GNR listed as Guns and Roses in his music files on his computer, I explained to him it is wrong and changed it, Its a real pet hate of mine.
Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Amish on March 26, 2006, 04:00:10 PM What about the song "Get In the Ring" where he says "and in this corner, waighing in at 850 pounds, Guns and Roses!"
Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Mr. Nik™ on March 26, 2006, 04:04:01 PM & = and = 'n'
Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Amish on March 26, 2006, 04:22:11 PM & = and = 'n' I understand how they all mean the same thing, but everyone's acting like you absolutely have to pronounce it "n" when Axl himself has clearly said "and" at least one time that I can remember, in "Get In the Ring." It's a silly thing to even discuss, though... :) Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: McDuff on March 26, 2006, 04:23:21 PM Guns N' Rose.Guns and Roses, means the same thing, the N is just short for the word and :smoking:
Title: Re: Guns "&" Roses Post by: Eclipsed107 on March 26, 2006, 05:45:37 PM You people are making too big of a deal out of this.
"n", "&", "and" are all the same thing and have all been used offically. Just look at the live era booklet if you want to see them all. I've always perfered Guns n' Roses to tell you the truth, but that's just me. Guns n' Roses Guns N' Roses Guns 'n Roses Guns 'N Roses Guns 'n' Roses Guns 'N' Roses Guns & Roses Guns and Roses Guns And Roses are ALL acceptable. |
