Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Day in Rock reports: Live Nation/Clear Channel reports that Guns N' Roses will release the long awaited Chinese Democracy album next month. The report however does not specify where this information came from.

This news comes after weeks of speculation about the imminent release of the album after several tracks leaked and Axl Rose playing the CD for several people. However, nothing official has been announced as of yet but the band are set to play several festivals in Europe this summer.

Update: Our good friends at Talking Metal reported the following: Clear Channel's official website announced that the long awaited Guns N' Roses album, "Chinese Democracy," would arrive on store shelves in April, so TalkingMetal.com contacted Axl's management to get the real scoop. Sanctuary Management told TalkingMetal.com that the Clear Channel article was "interesting" but stressed that they will issue an official press release when a release date is confirmed

Naw, this has been around for some time. It came out on one of the TalkingMetal Podcasts. (From last month, I think)..

if it comes out in april, we will know it then.....

The article said it would be out in April.  April has 4 Mondays and 4 Tuesdays.

i don`t believe in a release in april..... a single is more likely...

Last time they 'planned' (I use that term VERY loosely) a European Tour to this extent (not the 2002 tour) was when the album was supposedly done (according to Doug Goldstein) but they were going to tour before it was released... If the albums coming out then I think Axl would be doing more than going to Soprano's premieres for attention, there'd be a big scoop interview, all that sort of thing... we will know the release date at least a couple of months before it comes out id think.  It wont be till July at the earliest, and considering the years of disappointment, thats still very much a long shot.

Didn't Axl make some comments recently indicating this summer? According to the RS reporter, Axl said the album wasn't finished. Merck confirmed that.  I think these reports of an early release, March, April are overrated. I expect something June or later.

Is CC friendly with gnr now?
That Sanctuary said "interesting" instead of flatly denying is interesting.

As far as it goes for the promotional aspect: I think CD is promoting itself (kind of  ::) )
Therfor we might experience a little surprise when it is coming down to the release of this Fucker........ :drool:

Might be a good idea to release IRS as a single soon with the tax season upon us.  Just a thought.

IRS isnt strong enough to be the first single off an album with this hype and waiting period. Eh.. If it comes out in April good.. If it dont.. the waiting game continues.

I probably think they'll release a single, not the actual album.  They haven't even announced anything yet, and that's not a good sign...

Whether they release a single or the album, I'll be happy - any progress is good in my book...just waiting to hear something official, as always.

Clear Channel is more apt to get accuarte info thrown at them down the pipeline, but i still dont think the album will be out in april-i agree we should see a single by then tho.

Unless they announce dates before RIR I can't see it being released in April.
The tour and the Album would be to far apart... A single in April and The Album in May would work though.

there is NO FUCKING WAY that CD will be released in april.

..this is the most anicipated album of all time...they aren't just going to release it without at least a few months of promotion and "build up". 

the record label will want to do everthing right in order to get the best sales possible...the right thing to do would be to announce it, then release a couple of singles over a period of 2-3 months...THEN release the album...just throwing it out at the last minute is insane...if it happens without enough promotion, no one will even know it's on the shelves.

Mabye IRS will be released on april fools day, what with the history that song has with aprils fools day.

We are talking about Axl Rose here.  Anything can happen.   :peace:  People do strange things to get attention.  Releasing a CD without "promoting" would be promotion in itself.  All a part of great marketing.  Especially when it is GNR.  It may not work with other bands... but it WOULD work with GNR.  Indeed.   : ok:

This album needs to wait, You could say CD will be released in two weeks, and the album would get all the hype it needs just be announcing it.

The new Guns N'Roses album, Chinese Democracy, will NOT be released next month.

For folk pushing this information, it is wrong. The new album has yet to even enter the release conveyor belt at Universal, according to Universal.
