Title: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Post by: Mr_Brownface on March 23, 2006, 11:46:15 PM I recently purchased this book on Ebay and it never showed up in my mailbox. How is it?
Anybody read it? I just became aware that Axl mentioned this man in Get In The Ring. My English not so good, please refrain. Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Post by: Gaymo, the Hobbit on March 26, 2006, 08:53:18 AM you should read "the band that time forgot"
that's a very good one Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Post by: jimmythegent on March 27, 2006, 06:03:19 AM you should read "the band that time forgot" that's a very good one Are you joking? :o That is without doubt the most pathetic rock biography of any band that I have ever read Mick Walls is a good read, less a book and more a collation of interviews he conducted with members on their ascent to megastardom Gives some great insights into the personalities at play Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Post by: jimmythegent on March 27, 2006, 02:58:08 PM you should read "the band that time forgot" that's a very good one Are you joking?? :o That is without doubt the most pathetic rock biography of any band that I have ever read and why is that? totally one-sided account (Axls) in the brief (1/2 page) mention of Izzys departure, it claimns the reasons he left were because he was too lazy. It also claims that this was not a major loss to the band? other than that, its riddled with factual inaccuracies, pitiful grammar and several spelling mistakes Title: Re: Mick Wall wrote a book about GnR? Post by: gnr_12 on March 28, 2006, 12:18:03 AM Agreed... it goes into no detail once so ever.. everything in that book.. wait a minute i could have written that. no problem. There are som many things left out, important pieces which are too brief.. it was a good read, but no one has yet to make the ultimate GNR book, like i said above, one of the guys excluding Matt, Gilby, Dizzy and Steven should help write it.
