Fields Of Roses': Guns N' Roses in concert

Posted by Mojo Concert (big concert promotor in the Netherlands)
GNR! Finally! After weeks of speculations and uncertainty word is out. On the 2nd of July there will be NO Fields of Rock Festival in Goffertpark in Nijmegen. Maybe at one point there was going to, since a lot of bands had this one scheduled in their tour program.

But we do get GNR, for the first time in the netherlands since 1993. As you could have read before here, you can also see Sour Stone and Alice in Chains on the 2nd of July in Nijmegen. Besides them you can also see the band Bloodsimple as support act for Axl and his (new) friends. No festival, but all the bands that were promised. Which band members Axl Rose will take with him will be revealed later.

Tickets go on sale next Saturday, 25th of March at 10 am....... tickets will cost 45 euro......

Too lazy to translate the rest. It's about where you can buy tickets.
Here is the original Dutch post for the Dutch fans:
Gepost door: - 2006-03-22 12:32:01 - Bron: Mojo Concerts
Guns 'n Roses Eindelijk!

I find the wording in this phrase interesting.

Posted by Mojo Concert (big concert promotor in the Netherlands)

Which band members Axl Rose will take with him will be revealed later.

The fact is that all central players from the '02 tour (sans Buckethead) will come back. I wonder if there's a new guitar player in the fold...

If not for the recent upswing in VR vs. GNR fueding, I would have found that comment very interesting considering Alice in Chains will be there (and Duff did just perform with AIC).

I wonder if there are some big (non reunion) line-up changes.

I remember reading a rumor on mygnr a month or two ago that Jerry Cantrell was in the running for a third GN'R guitarist. Wonder if this fuels the fire at all. Seems both bands are playing the Gods of Metal show on June 4th as well.

Hmmm...very interesting.

Slightly off topic but i heard from a friend that it was soon going to become policy in amsterdam that tourists would not be allowed to buy weed in coffee shops. Can any dutch gunners confirm this and let me know when its coming into effect?

I think what your friend heard was that you aren't allowed to smoke weed in place where a lot of tourists go, They're afraid it will make the city look bad or something.

They've actually put these signs up

http://www.hln.be/hln/artikels/foto/large_108248.jpg

to let you know you aren't allowed to smoke weed there lol? :hihi:

A year ago there was also talk that only customers with a special card could buy at a certain coffee shop. Don't worry. There are elections next year and our government is very fond to tackle the system to win more votes. Nothing will come off it. Soft drugs will still be sold 'legally' in coffee shops in this country. (it's not legal by law, but there is an agreement that nobody gets arrested if they only buy for themselves...)

So GNR can have lots of fun when they come over  :peace:

Well, I hope Uncle Axl won't go and smoke some cause I'm really tired of the musicians who can't do a proper show cause they're stoned as hell.

And all the artists who come over always tell how great it is in Amsterdam and that they can (and did) smoke weed.....boring as fuck....  ::) No weed before the show please, Axl & gang....

well, there are coffeeshops in all the cities and villages of the Netherlands, so no need to go all the way to Amsterdam. Bit of culturate education for the non-Dutch  :hihi:

I do hope we are all able to get good tix. Have a feeling it might be sold out pretty quickly, since quite a number of people would like tix to see AIC as well. Good luck everybody his Saturday!  : ok:
