Title: Was "November Rain" a phrase before Guns?
Post by: parisrocks on March 20, 2006, 04:09:00 PM
I'm wondering if it existed before, because I heard Mick Jagger use it a song on the "Alfie" sdtrk.

Could be that they created a new, little pop-culture something or another.

The song you are referring to by jagger was made for the movie Alfie.  So his song is a new track created after NR.  So I would say that Axl created that.

I think the phrase "November Rain" has been used for centuries...

I would imagine it was used when it was raining. In November.

"Ee, this bloody November rain, it soaks into your keks, so it does..."

Ok...it seemed as though you didn't know how old this particular song was (since Jagger has been makin music over 40 years), hence my reply.  So it seems you answered your own question, thereby leaving this thread worthless the moment you started it.  Congratulations. : ok:

It appears there was a poem by the same title written in the 19th century.

November rain is cold...and often in most of North America - I think it can be more associated in Axl feeling bad on a rainy November night

Who begat Axl, who begat Jagger is what I was asking.
