Hey..will CD be out befor the tour starts?? I say it has to be for guns to succeed..Why do bands tour?? to promote an album and increase sales??If they tour without an album and play new songs they will be all over the net and that will hurt sales alot.
Last time they played RIO they said they would be back next year with a heap of new songs ect.. but they had to cancell because of Buckethead ..So this year when they play Rio i think the Album will be out....and they will play new songs ,If its not out there doomed.. ??? Sorry for rambling....any thoughts??

Nope. that's what the "leaked" demos were for. the band put them out there so that they could play new material that was familiar to the fans. The albums not coming out any time soon. At least that's my opinion. Hoefully I'm wrong.

We'd be very lucky if an official release date was announced before the tour starts.

He never said it would. "You'll hear music this year" is a way to avoid the question, but give hope to people. He's painting a pretty picture on it. He could have just meant we'll hear new music on tour...

Guns toured for almost 5 months before the illusion records came out. I'd imagine the record will be out before the tour, cuz Axl has been protecting these new songs for wayyyyyyyyy to long to have someone bootleg all of them and sell them on ebay for rediculous prices, while he makes nothing.

I think you're wrong about the motives of the leaks being for the european tour, but i do agree it's a longshot that CD will be released this year.

My belief is that the leaks were done by the record company as another attempt to force axl into a release just as the GH's were done around the same time last year.  I think this is a final warning shot to axl, put the album out or we'll expose the whole thing.  Maybe the compromise is the Euro tour to redeem money the same way GH did last year.

If the European tour is the 2002 tour part deux (appetite UYI with a CD sprinkle) then shame on anyone for buying tickets to the same bullshit show he's put on for the last 5 years.

I think another window is shutting fast and that if management and Axl don't jump on the buzz that's been created in the past month they'll lose another big opportunity to get this monstrosity to the public.  THe Euro tour is not going to creat buzz in the place he needs it most, the US. 

They need to set and announce a release date very soon.  If you don't believe me, look at the lame threads on this board lately that have nothing to do with CD.  People are already moving past the excitement of the leaks.

so far honestly to do teh shows they are doing it seems like even if cd didn't come out it would still go very well..

If axl swung by nyc every five years and played me the past catalog I would go see em...

-single & video in late april
-beginning of the tour in late may
-album drops around "Rio"
-late june second single
-US dates in late july
-october 3rd single combined with a DVD of RIR
-december : second album
-late december: even the latest asshole in the music business has recognized that the King is back :peace:

I dont see the album coming around RIO, I think a better chance is around late june. They also are not going to release 2 albums in one year.

Exactly!  There is definatly something up to Axl being all over NYC.  Now it might just be that he is there working with Merck on all the European dates, but I think there is more stuff in store.  I predict shortly after all the tour dates are set in stone, we will hear something. 

Even he sid we will hear some music this year and i hope that means before the tour dates ;D

All the public appearances, brief, cryptic statements ("new music this year"), and leaked songs have done is get my hopes up.? If nothing comes of all this, I'll be disappointed and bitter once again.? Here's hoping, though...

1) Announcement next monday (2 months before RIR);
2) Single in the second week of april (3 weeks from now, 6 weeks from RIR);
3) Album shortly after RIR (maybe that 06/06/06 theory is not so wrong).

Sounds like a plan there  : ok:  I'd say an announcement would be a closer to RIR though.. and a single also closer to the start of the tour.. maybe even one or two into it.
