Do you have a link?

I think it's safe to say, that GH's has covered the recording costs of CD.

Yes. Say, $13 a copy x 2,000,000 copies= $26 Million dollars.

Yes, but that leaves extra money if Axl decides to re-re-re-re-record Chinese Democracy. And like Minneapolisnewsman said, it completeyly covered the cost of recored Chinese Democracy thus far.

that is by far not what the record company made and i dont think axl made much if anything.  Didnt Slash say gnr members were not making money?  I could be wrong but if they did it woud be a very small amount I think.  Axl is not a rich man of off the GH cd.

I'm sure that Axl Rose(as owner of gnr name) have some money of every gnr material selling

Actually, I think it is nearly 3 million for this, in the U.S. ?The product, had barely any overhead, so the margins are very high. ?I would imagine it's pushing 5 million worldwide. ?Looking back one year, GNR had only gone platinum, so they at least sold a million units of this in the U.S. last year. ?Combine that will sales of Appetite, UYI, UYII, Lies, Live Era, Welcome to the Videos, Live from Tokyo, and it becomes likely that they pushed 2 million units of one form or another last year, in the U.S.! ?That makes, 2005 GNR's best selling year, stateside, since 1993 I would assume!! ?Good time to release the album, somehow after the 2002 debacle, GNR are gaining notieriety again!!

well, with new gnr album(i don't like name "chinese democracy"),gnr would be sold lot of old materials(appetite,uti,lies,gh...)

Not like anyone pointed this out in the Greatest Hits Charts Position thread a week ago.    :nervous:

This collection really has legs.

I think Steven Adler said in a inteview that he still gets over 300 000 dollars each year from his 10% royalties of AFD.
Guess Axl gets a lot more....

Adler gets 15% of the royalties from AFD.  I also agree that when CD comes out the other albums will sell more.  Some kid will like CD and want to check out their older stuff and be like "wow, this is good."  I think all the albums will go platinum once more, with the exception of TSI?  :hihi:

Too bad it's not a better collection of songs to repersent the band.

I mean there's not really a bad song on there, but you put on a "Mr. Brownstone" and a "It's So Easy and or Nightrain" instead of the TSI? tracks and you have an amazing collection : ok:

My Michelle needed to be on there.

Yeah but it's a greatest hits, not a best of album,I would have liked it better if It's So Easy and Mr. Browstone was on there,or Rocket Queen, but I bought it anyway. :peace:

It's So Easy should be on there and so should Nightrain, they were hit singles!

It's So Easy wasn't really hit was it?
I wouldn't know because I wasn't alive at the time but looking at chart positions (or lack of) it appears both It's So Easy and Nightrain didn't even make a dent in the Hot 100.

But they were singles, and a part of being a single is being a hit.  But I don't understand how Estranged isn't on there either.  3 more tracks wouldn't have hurt.

Well it's so easy was hit in gnr cominity, but not in music industry like(paradise city, wttj, scom, november rain,ycbm,)...

About estranged on greatests hits, november rain and estranged=20 minutes of music

But i don't know why the f,..k Gnr didn't realised Breakdown as single and video, because this song had more potential

If it was a Best Of Guns N' Rose compilation you would have got My Michelle, Night Train etc..

But this was Greatest Hits so you could only get stuff that was released as singles, although after looking back at the tracklist iw as surprised there wasn't mayeb a one or two mroe of the singles from Appetite For destrcution, and estranged should ahve been on threre- I mean they already had Don't Cry and November Rain. It should also ahve had a some sort of PC compatability so you could watch videos. Axl swims with dolphins- good times.

well the record company's actual earnings after expenses are probably about 6.50 per album.... which equals 13 million. the rumored cost of CD.

I'm sure all is square with interscope/geffen at this point. Lets hope CD makes a ton more cash : ok: then we might actually be able to hear all the fruits of axl's labour over the last 10 years

not all the money from record sales goes into the guys pockets. Theres a whole load of shit to pay off., hence why they get %of royalties. Greatest Hits is probably different though since it has no costs for recording. It's not remastered right?
