I think they should just call it GNR. It still evokes Guns N Roses but the change reflects the fact there is a new band.

Like what Kentucky Fried Chicken did when they went to KFC. (no Buckethead connection intended)

Im only here a few hours and already your all being a bunch of fucking wankers except one person. I didnt come here to piss people off, I came here to talk about Guns N' Roses, who in my opinion were the best band ever.

I don't mind whether they change the name or not. Well, Personally I prefer bands to sole acts. So, as far as it's not "Axl Rose and whatever band" I'm easy.

The name Led Zeppelin sounds better than The Yard Birds. Not so many ppl care about the Yardbirds nowadays. I wouldn't have even heard of it if it hadn't been for Led Zeppelin. Still if Jimmy was the fonder of the Yardbirds and attached to the band, he might have tried to keep the name a bit harder.

Anyway, This Guns N' Roses IS my favorite band that is making my favorite sound at PRESENT.
But It's not my band.
Nor yours. You don't even like this band so I guess how they call themselves is none of ya concern.

i love GNR, though i dont like the new line up. i just dont think they rock out as cool and i personally think the old musicians were far better. (not steve lol, i mean matt sorum)

I have watched a live bootleg of new GNR and i dont like em. I think axl is only using the name so he can get more attention and sales. I will listen to the album when it comes out though since i think it deservesa chance since it has taken so long lol

You have all got me wrong. I fuckin love guns n roses. Im growing up on 'Guns'. Im probably a bigger fan then  most people here, in no way do I want to bash them. I just think Axl should change the name, cause its not Gn'r anymore no matter what anybody tries to say.

They should have changed the name originally(when Duff and Slash left), it's a bit late to change it now

Damn, the guy just wanted to talk GN'R and you gave him all kinds of crap.  I'll be a nice guy and answer the question here.  Axl probably should change the name.  It should just be called Axl Rose...kinda like what Ozzy did after he left Sabbath.  Tons of people would still go see him cause he's still got one of the most famous names in music.  Hell even when Robert Plant and Jimmy Page got back together they called it Plant and Page instead of Led Zeppelin.  So that's where I stand.

i think we all agree Guns N Roses is Axl and Slash mainly--notable mention to Izzy and Duff......I think axl should release the new album under his own name that way it still leaves the door open for the band to reunite....Plus I think this is more like a solo album since the other members are all faceless players on the album......Guns N Roses is AXL and fuckin Slash....

I guess metallica should change their name too since they don't havve cliff, mustaine, or blair? that were in the band originally.  I guess queen should change their name too.

I, for one, think he should change the name.? He's the only fucker left and has changed personnel time & time again.? You can't compare it to other bands, such as the Doors and Queen, who still have the original members minus one.? This band has no original members and only one - 13 yrs later. I think I've said it before...what if the Stones went into a "hiatus" and everyone left except Mick.? Then he came back 10 or 15 yrs later, with all new members, and still called it the Rolling Stones.? Same for Steven Tyler & Aeromith.? It's just not that band.........? ?It's just wrong, regardless of whether he owns the name or not.? ? ?
