Title: Has Axl dropped the F-bomb on the new songs?
Post by: RichardNixon on March 01, 2006, 12:05:57 PM
I haven't heard it used once. You think the new GN'R will get the "explicit content" label?

I liked it. He doesn't need to cuss in his music, it lowers the quality.

Well, Oh My God, Rhiad, Silkworms and Madagascar all contain the word, and since in my opinion Madagascar will definitaly be on the album, the sticker will be on the case...

Maybe GN'R/Axl will be...respectable? But OMG and SW wont be on CD, right?

the attitude and the potent language is part of what got gnr on the map and i believe it can make some songs more powerful

Well since every GNR LP prior has the explicit sticker, why change now? :hihi:

I'd like it if they were b-sides or he did a nasty little techno industrial ep with these songs on. I bet he's got some more like that aswell. Imagine there's probably hours of Pittman and Brain screwing around with fucked up samples / drum beats or am I getting too excited?

Change? Because Axl wanted to change everything about GNR. Except the name, that is.

Axl is from a time when Fuck wasn't a necessity, yes he has used it, but never just to throw it in a song.

If and when Fuck is used in Axl's songs he puts it as tastefully as possible  :hihi:

What the fuck!!!!! of course there will be the "F-Word" on the new Guns N Roses album

I don't think Axl would be looking where to put the "fuck"... he writes how he feels, when the lyrics needed he'll write it well and it will sound great.

 cheers for the fuck !!  :hihi:

Ok, well to answer your question, yes I think there will be an explicit sticker.

You can bet your f$cking ass the word f$ck will be on the album. ;D

but i'd like to think axl's at a point where he doesnt need to use the f-bomb 'crutch' as it were.

it may lower the intensity or anger but not the quality.....

I have albums w/o a sticker that use the f-bomb once or twice. Isn't there a rule that says you need x-many F-bombs to get the sticker?

I remember in an interview done during the period that the illusion albums were being recorded, the interviewer asked if there would be a lot of swearing on the album like there was on appettite and Axl said that he only puts swear words in songs when it is necessary to convey his message, not just to make people think he is hardcore or something like that. So if it is required to convey his message on the new album, then there will be swearing, if not, there will not be swearing.

Right line but it's actually Gene Hackman saying it.  It's a clip from "Mississippi Burning."

Yeah, there is.

Something like 8 Shits, 4 Fucks, 1 Cunt.

Something along those lines.

HAHA, so if you had an album with 7 shits, 3 fucks, and one pussy it wouldn't get a sticker?

I was being serious, y'know?

It's the same with classifying films. For example, a film will remove a couple of shits to keep it a PG-13. You know, the key demographic...

It really is something like what I posted above.

But, you know, it's like maths. 7 Shits and 3 fucks would probably get the sticker.

Like...6 shits equal one fuck. So add those seven shits to that one fuck, and you've got the sticker.

Now, with pussy we're in a whole other territory. Say, about 10 pussies will get you the sticker, were as it would only take one cunt.  9 pussies, a few shits and a fuck would probably leave you comfortable, but maybe a few pricks and a bitch would kick you over the edge, and you've got that sticker.

You'd probably be safe with a couple of pricks, a few bitches, a fuck and a shit. Though, if a cunt popped up you'd get the sticker.

If what we have been hearing is the four song demo that was leaked "accidentally" (on purpose) to Mike Piaza knowing that he would bring it with him onto Eddie Trunk's show, whoever burned this disc at least had the presence of mind to choose four songs suitable for radio airplay.  I think that if not the band, then the label is leaking the music to stir up interest.  It certainly has worked so far.

Frank Zappa'a Jazz from hell had a Explicit Lyrics sticker and it is an instrumental album  :hihi: - so no, there is no formula

If Axl does not include the "fuck" in at least 75% of the songs, I am not buying the album. It is the main reason I buy the album so that when I have someone respectable in the car I can play GNR and then watch their reaction when Axl says fuck. Ain't it fun!
