Sanctuary have confirmed that Guns N'Roses will have recorded their next two albums, when the recording process is complete.

Chinese Democracy, the first of the two releases, is set to be released this year, according to Axl Rose.

I cant even imagine two seperate albums in one year. Amazing doesnt describe it....

IF this is true, it basically confirms that Axl does indeed still care about his hardcore fans. The only reason to release two albums within a year or two would be to please his loyal fans. Is it possible that we are being rewarded for the long wait? :o

That would be my guess as well.  Axl mentioned this at a concert a few years ago.  I'm glad he's sticking to that plan. :beer:

or sp!at read this forum, saw Mysterion's comment, and decided to post it as a news article on their site.

Considering that Axl's songs are not the shortest of tunes. I think 13 at most will be on an album so 26 would make 2 albums worth of material (whether or not the second is ever released) with the last 8 songs not making the cut or finding their way onto a soundtrack.

That's not like them to do that ::)

but it is like them to post rumors as a legit news item. Sure thing, people do go elsewhere for GNR news, but HTGTH and MYGNR are the best known ones for anything related to GNR.

Everyone knows that...do a basic GNR search on Google, and the two forums come up first. So if Joe Public does a basic google search for GNR news, he would get this forum as a first option, and people generally click on the first option only.

um mygnr is known mostly for ridiculous rumors, thats about it.  madison has some good contacts, but i've never seen a story break over there.  sp1at has regular contact with sanctuary and  merck directly, and has established many contacts in the gnr world that they don't normally brag about.  news posted there has been confirmed with management in most cases.  they make take a rumor from another site and check it to make it news, but they don't just grab rumors and post them as news.  htgth definitely is known for having a good front page news listing. 

I think they asked Sanctiuary to clarify Axl's comment and probably got a "yes" back as an answer.

For example:

Q: "Is Axl working on two albums?"

A: "Yes".

That's my guess....

Could the rerecorded version of AFD done in 99 be a part of ANY release in the near future? Will we hear any of those remade songs (other than SCOM)?

I think they should release the rerecorded AFD the same day the release CD.

Why? So there can be even more comparisons to the old band? :confused: Hopefully Axl doesn't take your type of advice and just lets Chinese Democracy speak for itself.

I hope that re-recorded AFD never sees the light of day. You cannot perfect perfection.

I think you'll find that sp1at exclusively reported that Axl had spoken to a Rolling Stone journalist, and to expect an article.

Everyone whose ever used their brain can figure out both tina and merck's email addy and they almost always respond.

The contacts they have established, I'll give them credit for that. Sp1at is a hard working site, gigger is one of the hardest working people i've met. You either like them or you don't, it's up to you whether to believe them.

Though, if they did take Madisons quote and then said "Exclusively", like it seems they did with the poster who posted about the Tommy podcast, that's a little low. But even if they did do that, it's their perogative. And it's your own choice whether or not you want to visit their site. Though, I think because of the situations that have arose in the past and always seem to arise whenever something is posted from sp1at, all threads concerning things from them should have "from splat" in the subject title so those who don't want to read it don't have to.

no offense, but this is kinda a stupid idea.  it's gonna be like the illusion albums again.  i hope it's not chinese demoracy I and chinese democracy II...that'd be idiotic IMO.

this is not very new information, we already knew they working on 3 albums worth of material. All this is saying is that by the time they are done recording the first record, they'll also have finished the second record. It in no way is implying that the records will come out at the same time

I don't care. All i know is we get 1 album this year at some point and that is a very cool thing. What ever follows is a bonus.

Since they are NOT being released simultaneously, it really isn't like the illusions. maybe axl just is sick of the studio and wants to have both done so he can touron new material without having to stop.

Anything new at this point would be a victory-but in the context of what we know Axl said and management confirmed, it's cool to know that if CD comes out, more new material is soon to follow :peace:

I just read the story from teh korn release party or tour party.. he said you'll hear music this year.. WOnder how there can be so many songs still not done

yep, they always start the rumors,

the rumors start flying about this or that . people tend to take what he says and blows it way out of context filling in with stuff they would like to see him do or hope he would do. kind of like reading between the lines but filling it in with there own delusions of what he means. but hey what do i know it is just my opinion.

I honestly think that this album will blow people away...yeah, it might not be all classic rock like AFD, but i think it is going to be top notch quality...much like UYI, but with a modern edge. ?

Sorry to be pessimistic but I don?t believe SP1AT at all. It?s great that we hear from Axl but I think we will be lucky if 1 or 2 new unreleased tracks - not albums - appear this year. I don?t think "Chinese Democracy" will come out at all in 2006, rather one or a few songs on some movie soundtrack. I think that?s what Axl meant when he said that "you?ll hear some music this year".? He hasn?t promised any albums.? This is sadly something we have experienced before. :(

Wow! I think in conjunction with Axl's comment to the RS reporter this signals the beginning of something. I now believe that we will see this album this year.  Tremendous. I am speechless.......

1. I will believe it  when I see it in stores (or THEM in stores)
2. it really makes no sense from a marketing standpoint to release  2 albums in one year. So I am dubious.

So.. actually READ the rumor before you start coming up with reasons not to believe.

its taken this long for one album,i dont care about a second album right now.if we get 2 albums this year then so be it,but if we only get one then ill be tottaly as happy.

Ages ago was stated that he had 2 albums worth of material.... Maybe 2000 that was said?? I'm not in a search mood.. Also said was an illusion's type tour (but for the 2002 tour) where they would tour for months with small breaks over a few year period.. Also axl had said about how you would get several albums dropping at different times..

Well, firstly to the person who said it doesn't make marketing sense to release two albums at once, I think we know by now that marketing is the one thing Axl doesn't care about (if he did he wouldn't wait so long to release an album). And after all this time the label aren't going to argue with him as long as they get at least one album. Having said that the original splat article said only the first one would be released this year. Although the second one would be finished already, it would not be released for some time. With all the songs they are working on this seems the most sensible. Although personally i would like to see a collection of the best songs on album rather that a mixture over two. Or maybe he has a seperate creative vision for both albums, like one is epic and complex like UYI in the extreme, and the other is a more straightforward hard rock album like AFD. That would be cool.

By the way, I have no doubt they read what Mysteron said and posted it on Splat. Mysteron is quite reliable because normally he speaks to rubbish rumours or stories as false. He doesn't make up stuff. But this time he is saying something positive so I believe he is telling the truth. As we've seen though, plans for CD can change all the time, so who knows.

Actually, what you say is not true, on two counts.
1. If you will remember to the UYI days, it was released as 2 albums and not a double because Axl was sensitive to making people buy a double. In an interview he remarked how it is harder to get (kids) people to shell out for a double album but much easier for a single album.

2. Axl, and the people who support his procrastination, have been arguing for years that CD will be released until it is 'perfect', which at a minimum suggests that he cares what people think, which in turn ties directly into marketing and reputation.

Would everyone stop talking about 2 albums being released at once.  Who ever said that?  All they said was that there will be two abums worth of material done when they are done with recording. 

To be more exact, they are recording two albums at once and these are CD and its successor according to Mysteron.

maybe the next two albums BESIDES(as in AFTER)? Chinese Democracy....that would make 3 albums? :P

Remember a few years ago somebody from the management company said that he heard 40 plus songs with lyrics. One would guess they are working more than one album at once.  Also, these leaks are song titles that have been mentioned on and off for over 6 years.  Most likely they have created newer songs    over the past 6 years.  So what we are hearing is not really new to many of us title wise anyway.   In the end we will hear plenty of new material.

I remember that, some guy said he heard a bunch of songs of the album.
back in 2002 somebody(in the band) said that they have 82 songs written and 48 recorded.
