Well this time if they want Slash, they can go see a VR show. Last time all Slash had done was Snakepit and people were still kinda pissed

I was only at the London, Ontario show, and I didn't really hear too many things like that said to the band. However, as long as someone pays for their ticket and they are not physically hurting themselves , other people or the band , then they have the right to yell whatever the hell they want. If they want to bring a huge sign that says "WE WANT SLASH" they have that right. I can't imagine why on earth someone would spend upwards of $75 ( I am guessing this will be the average price for the 06 US Tour, if there is one) to boo and yell, but to each their own I guess.

for the record, in 2002 when i went to the boston show, i didnt hear people screming 'we want slash!'

people were more pissed about axl taking till 1045 to come on stage

but the reception after the show started was amazing! :o

there is always going to be one bad apple to spoil it.  same thing when you go to a ball game or any mass gathering....someone goes with a friend just to go, someone gets free tix from work even though they really aren't a fan....they get bored so they like to start shit, especially when they know they can push buttons (like rooting for the away team at a ball game) or in this case trying to piss off the lead singer with a history of being sensitive.

I know I'll get shit from the younger fans, but I want 21+ shows. I tend to find that there are more idiot teenagers that like to ruin shit than idiot adults - not saying that there aren't any of those, either...
Maybe not EVERY stop, but in big cities, I would love to see them play a smaller venue 2 nights, one all ages and one 21+...   I know it won't happen, blah, blah, don't flame me

The younger crowd is who wouldnt know much about Slash, so i doubt its the teenagers yelling things. Remember the last record was released 15 years ago. What teenager was around then? People in the 28-35 range are just as likly to yell vulgar comments when you think about it.

strohs I totally agree.

I hear Slash calls even on the Osaka boot. >:( and chicks voice polly saying "f off" to the fuckers.

If you order tandoori chicken at Chinese restaurant, you're likely to be told to go to Indian.

If you insist on your right to have a pizza for your coupon for a dish of sweet and sour pork cos the place used to be a domino, you'll be kicked out.

Yelling the name of some other band/ musician, refusal or curses is clearly an act of intentional obstruction with the show.
How can the audience and the band allow the wankers to interfere with their business?

no wonder the band likes South American / European etc... crowds a lot more!!!

Because they PAID to be there ,and a professional band should be able to carry on a show even if 10 out of 10,000 are giving them a hard time.

because not everyone in the audience is DYING to be there.  people get free tickets, they win them on the radio, someone sells them for dirt cheap, some people just like going to shows.  After a few brews they're bored and just like to get dirty looks and start trouble.  Its impossible to have ALL 20,000 people at a show be DIE HARD fans who aren't going to yell shit.  The band should be professional and just ignore it.  Do you see pro ball players jump in the stands when fans yell stuff at them...ok, the NBA doesn't count. hahah ;)

I'm surprised the crowd doesn't police itself so to speak.

I've seen MUCH dumber.....the dude already said he was being sarcastic.

But I kinda see his point.  some people like to be caught up in "big events".  So long as him and his friends/family weren't hurt it would probably make a cool story.  I've lived in NYC long enough to be a part of the black out and the transit strike.  While none of those things were cool by any means (ok the black out was f'ing awesome! haha) they are still things that I was a part of, if only in a small way and I can share those experiences with other people who weren't there.  I'm very lucky that nobody I know was seriously effected by any of those events and its very sad that some people are/were, but I can say I was there for those things and talk to other people about it that are interested in knowing a hand on POV instead of just what you read about in the news.....

I?m more concerned with Axl being immature than with the audience...  :nervous:

I wouldn?t like this tour to go down in flames like the others, nor would I like to hear about thousands of fans being disappointed and/or hurt because Axl just didn?t feel like playing that night. Axl has more riots than songs under his belt by now.

And, to tell you the truth, I?d love people demanding to see Buckethead. I don?t mean to be a jerk, it?s just that it would be so fucking ironic... :hihi:

people will never get the fact that slash is and always will be a huge part of gnr to many people who are going to see these shows.. people are going to go to see these shows and say who the hell are those guys onstage and wonder what happened..  Just shows you that gnr fans don't care much for anything these days then to see axl and want to see the guns they know..

Thats so lame Mike cmon. Any1 going to a new gnr show, especially now coming up knows the band situation. If they are just going to hear some classics fine thas cool but otherwise this tour and band is about the enw band...I presume atleast on this next tour.

any1 who goes to the shows knows this. Its not old gnr. So if you wanna know where Slash is or hear him theres a band called VR. Actually Slash and VR would be better off because they can then move up in life and play arenas with their chart topping, grammy winning, cross over singles and album....

I was watching a Bon Jovi concert on IN Demand and Jon said how they feed off the crowd, that he can tell the moment the house lights go down if the show is gonna be great or not based on the crowd's reaction. He said the more the crowd gives, the more he is able to give and its a great interaction back and forth. If the crowd isnt energetic, it makes it hard for him to be energetic.

So GNR fans should remember this. If the fans react great, they will get a great show from Axl.

If they are shouting for Slash and not clapping and standing, u probably wont get that great of a show.

Only if they?re touring with an album. If they are playing UYI and AFD material only, there?s no way Slash won?t be missed by many. 95% of the audience is going to go ??just to hear some classics??.

Most people I know still think Guns disbanded after TSI, and I don?t see that changing unless Chinese Democracy is released.

I have to agree, although the last time I saw them live was at Wembley in 91 or 92, cant remember, anyway me and my mates got to the stadium at about 10am, the concert was not due to start until 4.30, and we were just going to drink outside until the gates opened.

About 1/2 hour before the gates were opened some dickhead threw a litre bottle of Martini in the air and this came down on the side of my head leaving a gaping wound and blood pouring out, luckily I had a bandana and my mates helped me to tie it tight and soak up the blood until I could get inside the stadium and see first aid, anyway once inside I got taken to the hospital they have inside the stadium and have to have 12 stiches without anesthetic as I had been drinking.

I dont remember too much about the show as I was severley concussed, I would just like to say thank to the dickhead that ruined my day!

Well, let's hope the same for AXL and he matures a bit this tour.

Rather than making fans wait 1-2 hours for him the band to come on stage, or blowing off the show entirely.

Make people wait, piss people off, what do you expect.

Ever hear this phrase "For every action, there's a reaction"

For the price of concert tickets, parking at the venue, merchandise and refreshments.....for the "priveledge" pf seeing him play, it's the least he can do

Hopefully there won't be any cancellations of concerts. Or a completely cancelled tour again. Although I don't know exactly what happened behind the scenes, the cancellation of a tour was very immature. Be it Axl's fault or someone else's in the higher ups.

I think it's the older people that can't get over the fact that Slash is gone who yell shit.

I saw two 2002 shows and heard no heckling - were these Fuck You chants at european festivals where the audience weren't neccessarily there for GNR?

i was at the leeds festival and all day i thought as soon as GN'R hit the stage they're gonna get booed or sumit cos there was a lot of kids there (slip knot fans) and other bands had been slaggin axl off(offspring and sum other i can't remember) i could see it being that bad that axl would do a strop and walk off but when they came on it was like eveybody and some had come just to watch them it was fuckin amazing especially when they did november rain and i looked around to see all these kids holding up their lighters or their bongs ;D fucking great : ok:

When Guns played Toronto in 2002 I didn't hear one bad comment.
