Title: which producer?....
Post by: Grouse on February 24, 2006, 04:28:55 PM
With all the talk of pharrel producing "libertad", I was wondering who would you like to see produce the album. I would like to see Tony Visconti produce it. :)

I'd like to see Mike Clink, but I doubt they'll pick him.

I remember saying Slash a while ago that the next album was gonna sound heavier and produced different.

Since Guns N Roses don't sound like Guns N Roses, VR should get Clink so they will sound like guns n roses minus Axl.  I mean, someone needs to fill that void, and new GNR isn't going to.  I like the songs, but as far as riff based hard rock with a good hook, its not GNR.  I think VR is in better shape then ever now after hearing the new leaks.

GNR leaks.  They are good but suck at the same time.

I would guess when he says riff based hard rock w/ hooks, i'd assume he's talking about VR

I mean VR has them, nu GNR does not.  But, I meant after hearing NuGNR leaks, it makes VR sound even better, cause nuGNR isn't doing what VR is.

apparantly, Axl didn't think tha was good music anymore, 12 years ago

of course, that's been popular for the last 35 -40years

I think it would be cool if they ditch Scott and just let Duf N Izzy do the vocals...and make that record that Slash really wants to make "the best GnR ever"......somebody has to do it.....and th eproducer could be Mike Clink since it's gonna sound like GnR anyway so....

Has Clink done anything worth a damn since AFD?

Just asking..

No, but can't the same be said for the members of GNR?  Just kidding.  Clink and GNR belong together.  Period.

Yeah actually...

AFD and Rust In Peace (Megadeth) were his crowning acheivements though.

Basically all the GN'R and Megadeth CD's in the late 80's early 90's

No clue whats hes up to now

EDIT: Interestingly enough (because people were talking about the Navarro in VR thing)

Mike is currently producing an album for Camp Freddy which features featuring Dave Navarro (of Jane's Addiction) on guitar, Billy Morrison (of The Cult) on guitar, Matt Sorum (of The Cult, Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver) on drums, Donovan Leitch (of Nancy Boy) on vocals, and some very special guest artists.

My guess is the fact Mike Clink produced alot of GnR's Albums, like AFD, UYI I/II, etc and that is what he was refering to
