Title: Brazilian journalist bashes Axl and is struck by the reaction of angry fans
Post by: NiGhTrAiN? on February 24, 2006, 12:48:57 PM
Brazilian journalist bashes Axl writing an article entitled "Fat aunt gets out of the tomb"

"You can start laughing now, Guns n Roses is confirmed to headline Download Festival, in Donnington, England, along with Metallica.
? ?It has taken over 12 years to Axl Rose finally spit out his most anticipated album 'Chinese Democracy'. Many musicians have come and gone and millions of dollars were spent on studios and demands of the solitary little king.
? ?There is a new joke floating around in which C.D. would be Guns' 'Smile'. Smile is a Beach Boys' album, which due to Brian Wilson craziness, took nearly 40 years to be released and was finally put out in 2004...
? ?Now answer : from one to 10, what are the chances of this new Guns' CD turn out to be a bad record ? Answer: 9,8
? ?If they intend to do a revival plagiarizing Aerosmith just like they used to do in 1991 or to recapitulate that pathetic performance in Rock in Rio 3 Axl would better continue working on this album forever and never show up again. The world doesn't need Guns n Roses anymore"

http://entretenimento.globo.com/Entretenimento/Blog/0,,5474,00.html

The guy is a jackass. That's just bad press. He speaks through his arse and didn't even bother to do a research before writing the article ( for all of you that don't know, Globo is the major Television Channel here and anything posted on their websites has a wide repercusion ). The pieces of background info he uses is just lost somewhere 5-15 years ago (and he calls himself a journalist.)
I am laughing my ass off to see people's reaction.Everybody's flooding his personal page at orkut swearing and sh*t (poor thing he's gonna have to delete it) and I think the record of comments on his page was broken (not very supportive comments though - eh )
I mean I do enjoy humour and sarcasm but some people push the buttons way too much. I think he didn't know who he was messing with.
Anyway, I just thought of letting you guys know. It just made me grin when I saw it.

This dumbass article shouldn't be read beyond this sentence.? This jerk-off obviously has no clue of what's going on and took his opportunity to bash the band as soon as any type of buzz started circulating.

Hey Nightrain, what's up, stalker? :hihi:

This is not really an article. It was just a blog... The guy is just a attention seeker, the best thing is just ignoring the clown. But people are spamming his page on orkut and it's getting lower... Don't think the GN'R fans should act like this, bashing and spamming the guy just because he wrote some shit...

I bet his blog is now one of the most popular here.. And that's just what he wanted. :P

Yo Voodoo :D

I agree that he wanted to have his 15 minutes of fame but that was not the reason he bashed Axl. He wanted to sound cool and original and funny. Problem is, he is a journalist. He shouldn't speak through his arse, especially while hiding under Globo's name. It's irrelevant if it's just a blog or an article. Once you're a journalist and you're addressing to the public  your text must be fact-based. It doesn't matter if you are writing about Axl or Britney Spears.  Wanna make fun of them ? Coolies, go ahead but at least try to be professional.

Actually, not. I'm a journalist too. If I have a blog, it's very different to write an article. I can write my opinions on the blog, it's not supposed to be "professional" - unless the guy wants to act in this way.

But I agree, he wrote that post to bash Axl and looks cool. It's like a lot of people here who thinks the next big thing appears each week in London's underground scene. Pretty pathetic IMO, every band sounds exact the same - all of them are just Strokes impersonators trying to be cool.

The main thing is: untill GN'R go out for real, they will always look like a joke to the press. It's easy to them to make fun of the band, they know it have a lot of fans and everyone will be angry - but they can get some attentionl.

This kind of thing don't happen just here. Look at this article in the BostonHerald.com, talkin' about the leaked songs:

The Herald heard three of the songs yesterday, and we can tell you they?re not Axl?s best. The new tunes lack the muscle and drive of classic GN?R, the melodies are forgettable and the new industrial/electronica accents sound forced, as if Rose is desperately trying to keep up with the kids.

They ignore the fact that the songs are just demos, from who knows when... Yeah, I know, the journalism is about getting the facts straight. But if there's one thing that fucks up any credibility is to write a cheap and lazy article. If you wanna do that, make a blog. :P

This is the result of all smart people sending the demos to radio stations...

Bravo people, you did it. The radio people have an opinion about CD based on old demos.

Let me put it like this. Let's suppose I'm a journalist. My task is : write an article about Maria Carey's new cd. ( won many awards and sh*t) My lines would be 'She's a fine voice but her breasts are too big and her personality is detestable' I mean wtf is that ? How on earth could that be relevant ?if it's just my opinion? Same thing about this Herald. He's a jackass too. How can he say it sounds forced if they're just demos? How can he say medolies are forgettable if I can't stop listening to them ? How can he say they are not Axl's best if he hasn't heard the rest?
Ever heard the expression when ass-u-me you make an ass out of ?u and me ?
How about reading this on the New York Times "Third world should start again tomorrow because Satudays are boring,Saddam has an ugly face,Bush talks in riddles there's no flying Peter Pan in Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch.
(k maybe a bad exemple cuz all of them are 'true'  )
oh well

He (they) would diss it either way. Borrowing Slash's words 'it generates an audience'.

Whoa, Gn'R die hard fans are getting pissed off.

One thing I've learned: Never piss off a Gn'R die hard fan saying shit about the band.
