Title: Chinese Democracy may just be the album that brings ...
Post by: Saul on February 23, 2006, 10:13:47 PM
guitar solo's back to mainstream music and make them popular again!!! For years now the "guitar solo" has been shunned on by fans , producers and even the bands themselves , but if the finish product resembles the demo's and this album actually comes out I think it might singlehandedly make "solo'ing" popular again!

meh

Solo's start now?!  ;D

I cant remember the last time I heard a memorable solo on a charting song ... let alone 2 and 3 in one song like these demo's.

It will be the album that brings the Fuckin Bucket solo to the main stream.
Shit, I don't know if that's good or bad.

Black Label Society
and
Damageplan are two great exapmles of memorable guitar solos. It's just these ignorant kids don't think their "cool" I guess.

His solo in "Better" might go down as the worst, most out of place guitar work in rock history. ?"The Bucket Incident" is over as far as GNR is concerned.

On the otherhand, I have seen Bucket live in the past few months, and love his solo show! ?It works for him, and I will go see him live again, and buy his stuff. ?It does not work in GNR, and GNR did not work for Bucket. ?It shows.

Yes, CD (if released) sounds like it will bring guitar back to the mainstream, and influence thousands of adolescents to pick the instrument up and start jamming in their basement!! ?I love it!

I agree. The metal jam on Better sounds like it was taken from the mid 80's early 90's and kicked up a notch. Insane. Hearing the full version of that song raised my expectations it will be a groundbreaking album. If we're lucky, it will do what you said. Take rock in a direction that it abandoned a long time ago.

Guitar solos are already back in style.  In fact if you listen to black/death metal it's hard to find many songs without guitar solos.

The problem is there aren't many good solos going around.

I agree absolutly with you. The last memorable album, talking about guitar solos I've heard, is ''Ozzmosis'' from the Prince Of Darkness. I was waiting that Metallica's new album had some killer solos but......then I heard St Anger....

BTW I think Slash's best solo in Contraband comes in Loving the Alien. ?The solos in Do It For The Kids rocks too.

the problem with the good slash VR solos is that the songs they are contained in suck.

You Got No Right had the most melodic solo.

I think TWAT is a huge song with a Pink Floyd magnitude outro.

TWAT outro is one of the best musical moments in GN'R history, no doubt about it.
And no... I'm not forgeting the past.
