I must say I never thought I would see the day tour dates were announced again.. is it just coincidence that axl appears a few times even in NYC then we get 3 leaks then european tour dates for festivals start appearing like years ago..?? I am really excited for cd now.. : ok:

(antiMusic) Guns N' Roses fans are getting what Axl promised; they will hear new music this year. The band has been officially booked to headline several music festivals in the coming months including Rock in Rio and Novarock Fest. Rumors are circulating that the band will also take part in the Download Festival, Rock am Ring, and the Gods of Metal Festival.

Novarock festival will take place on June 15 through 17th in Burgenland, Austria and GNR will join the line-up that also includes Metallica, Tool, Placebo, Opeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Massive Attack and interestingly enough Alice in Chains, according to the official website.

The fans made it happen in Rio. According to the Rock in Rio official site, "Guns n' Roses was the most requested band by the official site users, amongst all bands, by all fans, whether Portuguese or international." And organizers have confirmed GNR as the headliners of the second day of the festival on May 27th.

Leading GNR fan site, Here Today? Gone to Hell, reports that the band will also perform at Gods of Metal festival in Italy, however we were unable to track down an official confirmation form organizers at press time. But HTGTH has a good track record of being right on the money.

This news comes after a week of leaks of new GNR material adding fuel to the feeling among fans that Chinese Democracy will soon be upon us. Expect more rumors to fly in the next couple weeks about singles, release dates, iTunes etc. But we do finally now have something official, the wait is over for the return of the touring Guns N Roses at least. Let's hope 2006 is the year of Chinese Democracy, we've had patience for almost 14 Years but it's about time for Axl and company to get back in the ring.

Alice in Chains fans, hang tight we are trying to get more details about who will be involved and will report something when we know it.

Wow ! This is so cool !! Do you guys think that more festivals will be added, I mean since they first bother to travel to Europe with all their equipment and instruments and stuff? They really should do at least Roskilde, but I would love to see them do a coupple in Sweden and Norway as well !!!!!  And people: We have been fighting, and argueeing for months and years on this forum,about all kinds of bullshit, but I think both new-GnR and old-GnR fans are extremly excited, and even if I'm more a old-GnR / Slash fan, I've been loving GnR for almost 20 years now, and I love Axl, and respect him as an artist, and I'm happy to see that when it all comes down to it, we are all just a bunch of music lovers !! The last weeks have been very cool times for GnR fans indeed !!

Very true - the last few weeks have been very good for GNR fans.  This is so much so fast in the GNR world.  It's almost like a dream...I guess when it rains, it pours, so to speak.   

Hopefully I will be able to see them this time around.  I had tickets to see them in 2002, but sadly, it was never meant to be (I read in horror on this website as the tour unravelled in Philly just days before I was going to see them). 

In any event, I'm just glad to see some real news about GNR for a change.  It's been a long, long wait.

I think the festivals are warm up dates. Big Day Out is in January. If an album is released between now and the new year, I think we can expect Guns N' Roses tour dates around that time, not festival dates.

I really really hope they don't miss us. It is my lifes dream to see Axl perform.

Guns N? Roses have been confirmed for for a summer gig in Dublin later this year.

Performances from Guns N? Roses have been few and far between in the last decade and it is expected that tickets will be snapped up quickly when they go on sale next Saturday at 9am, priced form ?54.50.

More Guns N' Roses mystery

The mysterious and sudden return of Guns N' Roses just keeps getting more mysterious. Although the band is listed as a headlining act for at least five different European festivals this summer, the official Guns web site has yet to post any of the dates. According to MTV, representatives for Motley Crue, who are supposedly slated to open for GNR in Ireland on June 9th, claim to know nothing about the show. The band's manager declined to comment on either the festival shows or the status of the band's long-delayed Chinese Democracy album, telling MTV only that a press release would be issued "in due course."

Representatives for Geffen Records, presumably still the group's label, have no information on any release date for Chinese Democracy, which has been in the making for over a decade.

Guns N' Roses last appeared live in December of 2002, on a North American tour that collapsed after just a few dates.

A statement issued by England's Download Festival, which GNR will headline on June 11, featured a comment from lead singer Axl Rose in which he said it was "an honor and a privilege" to close the show.

There's no word on the makeup of the group's current lineup either. Axl is the sole remaining original member.

The reclusive Rose has shown up in public recently, appearing at a party for Korn a few weeks ago in Los Angeles, checking out a Victoria's Secret event in New York, then stopping in a New York nightclub on the morning of February 10th, where he reportedly played songs from Chinese Democracy for the club's owners.

Three tracks said to be from the album, along with a snippet of a fourth, were leaked online last week, with the group's management demanding that web sites and radio stations hosting or playing the tracks immediately cease.
