Would I be a fool to book Download tickets before anything is confirmed? How certain are they to be there?

Mind you I love Tool and Clutch so all wont be lost. Also hoping for Cliff Burton to come back fom the dead to play with that awful nu-metal band with some Danish muppet on drums. Cant quite remember their name....

Ive read that day tickets will only be on sale once they have sold a certain number of weekend tickets. ?This of course runs the risk of the festival selling out as it gets more popular every year. ?There is a chance there may not be any day tickets and if there are...there wont be loads.  Im counting on them....

I've just forked out a little over ?150 for a weekend of camping, music, and my arse getting kicked by Axl and the boys.

If day tickets do go on sale, you are looking at anywhere between ?60-70.

I feel for you! I'm a massive Bon Jovi fan and hope they come to Australia. I'd take GNR over Bon Jovi cos I've never seen Axl and it's my lifes dream. But if you already have the ticket, I think there will be other chances to see GNR  ;)

Bon Jovi were the last gig at the old Wembley and will the first at the new.. very cool  8)

Festival appearance confirmed
Guns n' Roses have been confirmed to headline the Download 2006 festival.

The band will join the already announced Metallica at the top of the bill for the summer event, which is set to take place at Donington Park between June 9-11.

The festival will provide the only UK shows for the two bands.

Guns n' Roses will take to the stage on the Sunday (June 11), while Metallica will play the previous night.

The last time Axl Rose and co graced Donington was in 1988, where they played in front of over 100,000 fans following the release of their seminal album 'Appetite for Destruction'.

Rose said of the appearance: "The UK and Europe have always been special for me. After our last great shows there, we are all very excited and looking forward to getting back over there and in front of such great audiences."

He added: "Donington has always meant a lot to me personally, way before I ever played there. To be asked to headline is for me an honour and a privilege that none of us take for granted. We look forward to seeing all of you at Download!"

Guns n' Roses are expected to showcase new songs from their long-awaited 'Chinese Democracy' album, which has been over ten years in the making.

As well as the two confirmed headliners, the bill for Download 2006 now includes Korn, The Prodigy, Deftones, Clutch, Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine, Lucuna Coil, InMe, Hatebreed and Within Temptation.

they don't have to set up stage since holland is a festival. so yeah they can travel that fast...they did it in 2002 with Leeds and Pukkelpop shows, so they can do it now too....hey..if i can travel those 2 countries in 2 days...then surely they will be able to ;)

Axl atually spoke to NME? awsome! that means he's aware of a tour! And at least he can't say again that the european tour was booked by his manager alone.

The rumor of them playing at arrowrock is getting stronger, I heard that waldrock had been pushed back because guns might playing arrowrock. I got it from a pretty reliable source.... :)

Second, I was hoping they'd do a show in London, but they might not do it to attract more people at Download.

Or they could announce it later, not to cause any problems for the ticket sales of Download.

We knew about Leeds since the end of April and they only announced the London shows at the end of June. Then they only did one of 2 shows.

I'm just worried that gnr will get booed if they play download, becuase it is mainly a goth- hardcore place. Unless they just go up and belt out Appetite and the odd metal illusion like YCBM. If they play any one of those new leaked tracks it wont go down well with the majority.

I agree - have seen no sign of day ticket info and with no news of a poss london show - i was gonna hold off UNTIL i had a gnr dream last night and woke up in a panic and booked my weekend ticket. rash - maybe, but had to do it.  if day tickets come on sale, will just have to cross that bridge.  man oh man, i gotta find another job!  so worth it though - gnr in a COUPLE OF MONTHS!  :peace:
