Well, I think it means that the cd will be out on April 25th, the single will have a short name to it like IRS, Better or TWAT.

Then, a tour will ensue next year...according to this source.

There will be a European tour and US tour in 2006 if plans go as expected. Sounds to me like this guys source ain't as legit as he may make out.

the rock in rio press release says the album will be released in mid march, and i guess they don't write their press releases out of gossip boards rumours.

March 28 technically isn't too late at all. I just think we'll see a single first. Plus I see the festivals at warm up dates and promotion for the album. I personally think we'll see the album between May and September sometime. I don't think we'll see the album without a tour and dates lined up right around release date.

These are the only two I could find, I searched the recent news articles for specific dates, not just the March month date Slash had mentioned. Make of it what you will. I await futher developments with interested cynicism.

March 6th is a Monday.  If this is so then I would figure since Europe gets new albums on Mondays, it would be March 6th everywhere, and March 7th in the States.  But these release dates are far too soon imo.

Its so awesome cause everything is truly pointing to a release.

I think that a good place to start as far as rumors when the album will be released, is radio stations and MTV. When the stations get an Official Single and MTV gets a Video to play then we will know that the album will be coming shortly there after. I can't see the album dropping without those two things in place. I could be wrong though.

I can't shake the feeling that CD is going to be released unconventionally, like its just going to sneak up on us somehow. 

March 6 seems too early according to me...But with all the hype now, it would be a good move to release it before the end of march...
march 13th would be my guess...but I still hopethe march 6th rumors :)

I think it's definitely on it's way but I woulden't give to much life to a march release but may sounds like a great month for a release. Everybody's releasing albums that month. Pearl Jam, RHCP and tool.  :peace:

hmm...

It always changes months every year. When we get to May, it will say 'expected July 2006'.

 Just talked to a buddy of mine who is a DJ for a rock station here in Florida. He's always asking me for "insider" info on wrestling whenever we chat (he's a huge wrestling fan and I work in the wrestling business). Anyway, I figured I'd turn the tables on him for once and asked what he'd been hearing about Chinese Democracy if anything. He said his station was promised to be one of the first to receive the new GNR single if they resisted playing IRS. He confirmed that Prostitute is expected to be the single and that it's scheduled to go for adds the first week of April, but that stations that didn't play IRS would probably get it a week earlier. He also said he'd heard that the album drops the first week of June, which is interesting because I saw June 6 mentioned here on the board, but then it vanished. I was hoping the album would be out sooner, but at this point, what's another couple months?

I believe it, but I wanna hear it from the horse's mouth.  Eh, if it does take this long, it'll be a good graduation present........ :crying:

Don't know if anyone talked about this, but Alice Cooper said last night that Chinese Democracy has a set release date. He didn't give a date though. He played Paradise City and said "this is for Axl to let him know I still love him", then he played GNR's cover of Mama Kin and talked about CD. Might be nothing, but it's pretty interesting. He's been saying for the last week that its coming out this year.

He said he wanted to know what Slash thought about it (strange since that's been all over the net) but he said he'd be first in line to buy it and he has no idea what Chinese Democracy is about.

Hm, if some random dillhole dj would have claimed to know CD has a release date, i wouldn't buy it. But Alice Cooper is sth else, so i take his word for granted

June is the best date to release it. Its right before the concerts and right around the time DVC comes out.

Everything we have is a guess at this point.

I'm just curious about how the UYI's were released.  I looked up Terminator II's release date, and it was July 3rd, 1991.  Was the video for YCBM already out?  The albums were released in September.  When did the big marketing kick in for the UYI's?  A little help from the veterans here would be most appreciated.   :beer:
