Title: maxim disses gnr's second time around
Post by: mikegiuliana on February 20, 2006, 07:38:01 AM
they did bands second time around kind of thing in the most recent issue I recieved in the mail.. (march 06 kristen bell on the cover)

SHUT UP AGAIN (second time around)

GNR VMA apperance 2002 -shows  pic of BH next to text

OK, so replacing slash at the 2002vmas with a dude wearing a kfc bucket on his head was an inspired little fuck you to slash but after watching botoxed looking axl rose emerge from his undisclosed location to shake his cornrows while his glorified cover band plodded through a medley of gnr hits, we're kind of glad Gn'R part 2 cancelled their planned world tour

Sometimes it's better to burn  out than fade away, reunite gouge the fans and shit all over your rock legacy..

Other two mentions were th eagles 94 hell freezes over tour and the sex pistols filthy lucre tour 96

Mike- This isn't an attack on you personally, but it almost seems to me as though you want the new band to fail. There have been plenty of positive comments and feedback from people (airplay on WAAF, enthusiastic fan reviews) yet you seem to cherry-pick and only post the negative.

I guess you haven;t been checking all my positive reviews on the new tracks... ?? ?Me posting something gnr related that happens to be in a new mag I got doesn't mean I want anyone to fail... Everything can't be positive, butr I'll tell you one thing if maxim ssaid new gnr wave of the future it would have been posted already : ok:

it's not meant to be taken seriously it's a swimsuit mag, but I'm sure if it said something positive it would be cheered upon

:hihi: I wonder 'why' the leaking guys did that? There must be a reason for it....... perhaps the music after that point changes like the weather, contrast..... I'd like to think that anyways.  ;D

Does Maxim always take that stance? Or are they like Blender and give both positive and negative mentions? I haven't been a subscriber to Maxim in a few years.

I think they tend to bash, they once had a poll called DEad or Bloated... They had axl vince neil etc and you had to guess who got heavy or who was dead

Maxim is a joke. I remember seeing them reviewing a rather good videogame and giving it a mediocre score. Sure... they're entitled to their opinion, but why should a magazine that focuses on women be bothering with videogames and GN'R? ???

If you never ever saw any other show of New GN'R or never heard a new song by New GN'R I guess I would've felt that way too. But they should do a little more research than that.
