Post by: dangnr on February 19, 2006, 11:56:00 AM
In one of those quick interviews, didint Axl say there was gonna be some song arrangments that were gonna be like Queen. None of the leaks so far sound anything like Queen, Perhaps by him sayin that do u think the guitar work that Brian May did wayyyyyyy back, surface on the album, Id love to hear that, Brian May is awsome

He didn't say they would sound like Queen. He said they had arrangements like Queen. "Better" for me exhibits this kind of thing. Hardish rock, followed by more playful high pitched vocals at times.

I think it basically means there is going to be a lot of variety not only on the album, but on each individual track.

Don't forget "kind of" by the way.
"Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen"

I think some guitar solo on the blues is a bit  like queen. But I wouldn't say the song sound like queen.

Queen had densely layered songs with different sound effects, synths, pianos, guitars, and all of that, I think he's talking more about the layering, texture and production of songs than the actual sound

Speaking of Queen, i wonder if Brian Mays input into Chinese Democracy has remained in tact on the finished album.

I am not a die hard fan of Queen. I have the Greats Hits album with tracks like Fat Bottomed Girls on and i had the album with Breakthough on it (The Miracle) and i have heard It's a Kind of Magic. Queen live really worked although their albums always sounded not nearly heavy enough for my liking.

hmmm, you should get 'The Game' or 'Hotspace' then. Rocking albums of the early Queen.

Some great epic stuff is on the Innuendo album (later stuff). True piece of art the last one! I'm sure you'll like it! Worth every penny.

You should try the first albums, until Jazz (when they didn't use any synths) 8)

Queen is AMAZING, I always thought that Axl was trying to reach their production standards for ChD. Remember that one of the producer was Roy Thomas Baker, who produced some Queen albums (I don't know if you remember a little track called Bohemian Rhapsody ;D - he was the producer) I think that says it all.
