Title: How could Buckethead leave this?
Post by: YouCouldBeMine on February 16, 2006, 08:09:13 PM
I mean the guy has cult status at best. This material, from what we've heard, is awesome. I can't believe he left Gn'R.

To you techinical guys: From what you've heard, is Bucketheads parts going to be hard for Robin to replace (chord progression, solo's on IRS)?

I can. The guy was unhappy in the situation , fans being pissed on and pissed off left and right , riots , kids getting hurt .. other members of the band not liking/understanding him etc etc .. plus he's a workaholic and likes to also release alot of solo material. Meh .. he left.

To you techinical guys: From what you've heard, is Bucketheads parts going to be hard for Robin to replace (chord progression, solo's on IRS)?

Hahahahahahahaha.    Bwahahahahahahahahahaha. Sorry bro , but robin finck aint gunna be be doing any blazing fast 8 finger tapping licks this lifetime.  And I dont think for one sec he can come close to playing the second solo on IRS.

Bucket left because the band was/is at a stand still.   I am actually shocked the rest of them haven't left yet.   But this has been discussed a million and one times

I heard that Jerry C. was contacted to join the band and fill Buckethead's spot.

Wow, would that be Jerry Cantrell you're talking about?

That would be aweome, but him and Slash are friends, so I don't see Jerry stepping into a position that was once filled by Slash.

Buckethead's guitar style is a bit tricky for anyone. I think even if Slash was going to play it he might have a bit of problems or would at least have to rewrite the parts slightly because while he is a very technically capable guitarist he has more of a blues background whereas Buckethead just has a ecclectic kind of style..

So with someone like Robin...im sure he could work at it maybe..im not the right person to criticise though because i'm not any better lol

Good point.

I know Robin isn't near as good as Buckethead. I was just wondering how hard of a time he'd have replaying the studio stuff.

Robin cant play buckets stuff. Not the fast technical stuff. Nuff said.

My guess is is that he just wanted to play the damn guitar and he doesn't seem like the type of person that likes to wait for someone elses word. He probably new the GNR record would be huge but doesn't care to much for rockstar status and fame....more about playing his passion. One reason why he wears the mask.

Yeah that's it really. He plays for the passion and because he enjoys it. Like you said, I'm sure he would have appreciated a leg up in the industry but at the end of the day you just want to play so yeah..

It's gonna be different without Buckethead...I really wish he would come back..

Why the fuck did he have to quit Gn'R though?

Can't he do side projects on his own? Like Dizzy, and Robin?

yeah right I dont believe Cantrell would ever be in GNR

maybe the "b-sides" 13 song bonus disc or whatever axl spoke of will be all the songs featuring bucketheads parts intact.  :hihi:

"big b" sides.

Bucketheads Democracy

The answer is not that different from the one to the following question:

"Why does Buckethead wear a bucket?"

Oh, and does anyone actually care if Robin or Fortus won't play the second solo of I.R.S. just like Buckethead? (considering they'll play the song, which is not even in their top 10). The first solo is my favorite one anyway, I'm sure these two guitarists can work something great if not better to replace it.

For the last time, Jerry C. is not Jerry Cantrell. Jerry C. is a very popular guitarist from Taiwan.

Have you been to one of his shows before?  I really don't know what to expect.  He has so many options at a show and he plays slow and fast, so I don't know what I will get.  I like the albums Electric Tears and Colma.  Do you think he will play any of that material?

No. I dont think you'll get any electric tear material. You'll for sure get big sur moon from colma though.

Your gunna get about 80% heavy , 10 slow and 10% in between.

Hey if Slash could leave, it msut of been real easy for buckethead.  I had never heard of BH till he joined GnR.

When Slash left, they were stll one of the biggest bands in the world.

Buckethead likes all the attention, he wants to be main robot and be in charge. In Gn'R he was simply a small part of the set, all be it an important part of the set.

I still don't like that much the ultra-speed Buckethead's solo on IRS. It lacks feeling and soul. It's pretty cold. It's a good thing he left. Robin and Richard have more vibe.

how could he leave.. lets see maybe the guy saw nothing was ever moving forward, that he had to share lead with two other guys, axl controlled everything, everyone had to be quiet all the time, everyone had to keep redoing parts.. i can't imagine anyone wanting to leave that.. :hihi:

We can all say this...

But we don't know whats going on behind the scenes. All we know is that CD has been in production for about 12 years. So CD has been in production since I was 4 years old. Damn thats a long time ago.

I cant imagine how Axl and Bucket got along. Two very "unique" personalities to say the least. Its very obvious  Bucket is pretty much a loner and likes to do his own thing. He has collaborated with others but is primarily a solo artist.

I imagine being in Uncle Axl's army, like "The General" Tommy Stinson, requires a fair amount of being able to take orders, direction and checking your ego at the door.

Buckethead might not be the right fit for such an outfit.

I like bh, but I don't like the solo in IRS because then the song sounds more bh than gnr.

I don't think he left. he was probably fired.
in the last interview he said he doesn't want to piss of axl "again".

authority problem..lol...

Has anyone imagined he could be very depressed over leaving somehow ?

Maybe he left for personal reasons... ::)
