As long as there's a new G'N'R thread going, I might as well share:

Yesterday, I got it on impeccable authority that original G'N'R is rehearsing again. I don't know if that means Izzy, Steven Adler, etc., but it definitely means Axl and Slash. Of course, even if it's hapening now, it still may never 'happen' in the public realm - and that's still my bet - but this is only the second time I've ever claimed to have really meaningful insider dope on the VR, and I was right the first time - I'm not jerking anyone's chain here...

This was then added by a member with over 1700 posts...I dunno what this is worth...

It would be cool if Slash replaced Buckethead at lead guitar, even if only for a live performance or two.

Now that is deffiantly not going to happen.

I can believe they were hanging out but there is no way that only Slash is going to rejoin GnR and just leave VR suddenly.

Good Lord.  I have been a hard-core fan since 87 and I have NEVER seen so many rumors about this band.  CD coming out, the reunion rumors.  Friggin crazy. :confused:

Maybe Axl is coming to terms with the fact that GnR isn't quite GnR without Slash. Maybe the new GnR will feature Slash on the old GnR songs and Robin on the new material or maybe Axl has said to Slash, you can join GnR only if you learn all the parts Buckethead has devised for the new album  ;D

It would sound MIND BLOWING with Slash. His guitar tone is unique. The man is a genius. Definitely better than Buckethead.

If Slash came back on board--fine, cool...but leave Finck and Fortus. And if Slash is back with the band, what does that mean for VR and "Libertad" as well as the rest of the nu-GN'R?

Duff instead of Tommy... Axl -Slash -Duff, the "magic three" should be reunited... with Richard, Robin, Dizzy and Brain of the new band, we would have the best GN'R line-up ever.

I wouldn't want to see Tommy given the shaft in favour of Duff; he's given a hell of a lot to the band. I'd agree that the current lineup + Slash would be fantastic to see live; just imagine Fortus and Slash on stage together...  :drool:

Tommy isn't a patch on Duff. Duff is a great musician and has really got his life on track since going clean, I would want Duff back just as much as Slash.

Tommy should stay. Duff can fill in when Tommy's off [ill_broken-down_etc]

I think Slash is more important to the Guns N' Roses image and franchise than Duff is. This is not a slurr on Duff's musical abilities because he is a very talented musician but Slash has a more prominent role in the Guns N' Roses image and is essential to the GN'R name

It would be a real shitty thing to do if the whole CD project was scrapped for a reunion. They need a new guitar player, so bring in Slash, but the rest of the guys deserve to stay.

Well... but to be realistic I think this whole rumour is not possible now. And I say now, beacuse from the latest nice comments from Slash about Axl and viceversa, and that Axl's statement on the RS interview that he has been talkin' to Izzy, I think a reunion is closer now. It could happen but after CD release and tour... even after another two albums if Axl got that amount of material as he said.

About Slash re-recording lead guitar parts on CD. I seriously don't think so. ?If it would be possible, do you think Slash would be sayin' that CD will be out on march ?

And after all this time, I would prefer Slash keeps out of CD project. Just imagine that would be an excuse for another year delay... ?:rant:

I agree about Josh Freese he's an awesome drumer, one of the best right now, but he's busy with NIN right now, and I hope Trent keep him !!!   :hihi:

Same here.  I want to hear You Could Be Mine played proper again, dammit.  Just once I'd like to hear the intro played with power AND precision.  Of course, if I had my druthers and millions of dollars, I'd say get Dave Grohl...that man turns anything to gold when he sits behind the kit.

I can?t understand why some people put Richard Fortus (over Izzy) on their "dream line up" he was the last one in joining GNR, no one had heard a note he played (at least in the studio material) and his past as a musician is pop asshole music... why is he better than Slash, Izzy or even Gilby ? because they think he looks cool ? Fuck up !

For the drummer slot, I have no preference, I like Matt in the UYI era, and Adler on AFD (not now, he's fucked up) but I don't care about Brain either, I don't have anything against him but I would prefer Matt over him. I agree, like I said before, Josh is the better man out there... but again, he's busy !  :)

These deffiantly are strange times, I mean Slashed talked more about Guns N Roses new album then Velvet Revolver in the radio interview a few weeks ago.

Axl and Slash in the Swing of things is the best thing that could ever happen.  99% of real GNR fans would agree,  if some of the fans would just drop the personal issues they carry, let things work themselfs out on there own.

Slash coming back would be nice if:

a) It didn't delay CD (i.e. no redoing the leads, just have him tour for now)
b) He put the effort in (imo, Slash is one lazy dude)
c) It didn't cause the band to implode

If those conditions were met, fine, otherwise, Slash should just stay where he is.

I will tell you why I don't think this rumor is true.

If Axl and Slash were rehearsing together, that means that they have obviously talked to each other. ?They are probably on good terms, if they are indeed rehearsing together, and Slash probably knows a little about Chinese Democracy.

However, Slash's recent comments about CD coming out in March would make no sense then. ?If Axl and Slash are working together, that means they are on good terms. ?If they are on good terms, I don't think Slash would go behind his back and say that the album is coming out in March. ?

But, we all know that Slash's recent comments did in fact happen. ?Therefor, I dont' think Axl and Slash have been in contact what so ever.

Does that make sense? ? ?

It makes sence BUT what if it is coming out soon and Slash is talking about it to get everyone ready and hyped like they are now.

We have heard Slash on his own one too many times. Its time to hear what Axl on his own is like. We got a taste. And it was fucking gourmet. Now all I want is the rest meal.

If Slash comes back, that means Duff, Izzy, and so on would follow him. I don't think it will happen soon because when/if Chinese Democracy comes out, Axl will surely want to ride on that ship for a while. He put 10+ years and X dollars into it. I don't think that he would give it all up for them.

Where did you hear this band before,they don't have any record together.

If you failed to notice, Slash plays guitar; Axl sings, a bit like comparing apples to watermelons; sometimes the sum of the parts id greater than the individuals; it's called synergy/chemistry.  Axl/Izzy/Slash had it.......it's still to be seen what Axl w/out them comes up with.
