Title: These songs are OUTTAKES - right?
Post by: conny on February 16, 2006, 07:59:56 AM
I wonder why there are no leaks of the songs we heard on the 2002 tour?

No "The Blues" demo or studio version, no "Madagascar" demo or studio - maybe because these songs will end up on the official release?

Why "I.R.S." demo? Why "Better"? Compared to Good Charlotte, this stuff sure is the second coming of Led Zeppelin, but compared to "The Blues", these songs are mediocre - and I think we can all agree on "I.R.S." being good, but no big gun.

So could these songs be from that very CD that Axl plays at clubs and parties to get a reaction from the people?

Could these songs be outtakes meant to demonstrate a bit of the new sound and direction of the band, hold fans or whoever else over until the real thing arrives?

If that's the case than the leaks are good news, because I think the more outtakes you fire away, the closer you are to the real thing because the less you have to worry about what you fire away in advance, you know what I mean?

What do you think?

These songs are from the Trunk cd.

Do you know this for sure? Don't get me wrong, it's the most likely explanation and it was rumoured that copies of the CD is in circulation, though the quality of both songs is different. "IRS" sounds much more compressed.

Also, if it is from the Trunk CD, shouldn't there be another track (There Was A Time) and 3 instrumentals of each?

I think they are unfinished versions.

Well, hopefully we'll soon have the other 4 songs, as well as the whole "Better" version...

I believe that it's the Trunk cd. Darknemus thinks so, and he's the one responsible for this, along with Saint...

I just think 'Better' is better than any other new songs I've heard in years...

When I came across 'Better' at boards at the first sight, after I've listen to 'IRS' continously for hours, I thought both songs were leaked coz Axl is communicating with his fans  God bless me, I'm insane :nervous:

The only thing that makes me scared a bit is that if they are testing the audience with this material, the production sucks ass. The songs themselves are really good but the production lacks originality or a unique sound.....hope the final cuts have better production...you know like AFD really had a certain vibe and this sounds too smooth/too computerized...

And it's just my opinion......I love the songs....

Axl says CD will sound like Queen, great vibes already IMO :)

Less than 2 songs've enhanced my faith on CD. Since Axl said 'Better' is one of the 3 tracks he liked best in the songs they produced, I really hope no more leaks . I'm expecting the final production, I believe it's in the near future.

IRS sounds great.
However i'm not a fan of "better". The intro especially, I dunno...I don't like this intro.

Yes, 'Better' is mind blowing. I'd say it's one of the "big guns" (curse Axl for ever using that term)...

"Better" really has the great "feeling" which made GN'R so big in time.

I'm diggin the tunes, but I expect much more. I would be that at least 1 of these 2 doesn't even show up on CD. I just have very high hopes, and even though IRS is  a good rock song...although I would be shocked if it was a single.
I'm expecting to be totally blown away by most of the new material, and IRS (when judged against the rest of the new stuff) will probably not be one of the standouts in my opinion. Just basing this on what I expect, not what I know.

yea these are demos so the tone, mix and what not will be pretty different i think in the final version. ALSO, we are hearing an mp3 so it won't sound as good ........

I believe that it's the Trunk cd. Darknemus thinks so, and he's the one responsible for this, along with Saint...

If memory serves me right, Trunk acknowledged there were three songs on that CD, with and without vocals. I've heard Prostitute was the third song... Then again, it might be TWAT. One can't really be sure without hearing the disc.

Whoever sent Piazza that CD must have a copy. Plus, they could have mailed one to anybody. Maybe Derek Jeter has a copy. Perhaps they sent one out to Albert Pujols! The sky's the limit!

I agree with the second half of this.. So much of gnr's material is way better the irs or better it's just everyone is so deprived of music from axl they just love anything thrown out there
