I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and so every time I go to a bookstore I see what I call the 'For Mormons Only Section.' Anyways, there is always those books on the subjects of porn and it's addictions.

Now, Porn has been blamed for failed marriages and the way men think after they have viewed a lot of pornography. It is said (by women mostly) that men who view pornography expect all their sexual partners to be perfect and everything so they won't want to touch who know their less than perfect partners and spouses.

Now, I believe that this rampage aganist porn addiction really stems from a narrow-minded female who just didn't like it that her man liked to look at porn just as much (or maybe more) than her.

As far as my personal opinions on porn, I believe that porn can be good and useful if it's used in moderation. I don't believe it's bad at all. But, if you are watching and looking at it too much, I think it can be a problem to the point where it's almost like a drug. You just can't get it out of your head.

But, in my opinion, if a responsible person is viewing (regardless of whether or not he's in a relationship), then he should be allowed to view it. Responsible being you're of an appropiate age, it's not illegal to view stuff like that in your area, it's the apporpiate time period, the appropiate place, etc...

But, I also want to stress the facts that men are the only ones viewing it. In fact, there was a poll done and it said that 4 out of 10 women view some sort of pornographic material on a regular basis. It was on a educational show about marriage that I watched.

Anyways, I'm in sort of one those moods today where I want to express myself very clearly but basically what I want to know is: 1) Do you believe that porn is good or bad. 2) Do you believe that men (and women) viewing porn harms their relationships

if you are single then go for it, if you have a girlfriend then really whats the point in watching it? she should be enough. and yes it does ruin relationships, its ruining mine. my boyfriend is obsessed , yes obsessed im just using that word because im mad.

Men and Women do have a different conception. For most of women it's disgusting, for most of men it's natural.
It's due to our human nature, the domination is part of men's characteristics, it's psychological and also physicall, we want to dominate, it's an animal pulsion, and watching porn is watching men dominating women and doing what the fuck they want with women. It's the strong sex (male) VS the weak sex (female). Question of psychological domination. It stimulates us and exites us. On the contrary, women feels the exact opposite feeling, they feel humiliated in porn movies, they have more sensibility for love than for pure sex. Don't forget that when they are 4, 5 or 6 years old, the girls think about the charming prince, play to Barbies, think about affection, dream and love....and the boys think about playing war; with mini soldiers doing war in toys, or play to the war as a game with their friends like "who's gonna kill the other first?".

It's the human nature. boys VS girls, and later men VS women.

There are other types of porn as well.

I'm not a big fan of porn, most of it suffers from a huge lack of imagination...blow job-pussy ?licking-normal sex-anal sex-cumshot is all that happens. On the other hand, watching porn has helped me a lot with women during my teeneage years. In my first sexual experiences I was not disoriented, I knew exactly where everything was and what to do with it...so yes! Porn is educational! ?;D

I think people just have too many hang ups about sex.  Its kind of irritating.  Did you know that more "R" ratings are given to movies based on sexual content than violence?  I would think there could be a decent argument made that watching extreme violence is more harmful than watching sex. 

I say if you like watching porn, go for it.  As long as it doesn't contain illegal activities (i.e. children or teenagers) then its nobody's business.

Porn in general is not bad. It's only bad when someone becomes addicted or when some lonely guy gets his views on sex and women from porn.

I have no problem with porn, nor does my girlfriend.  She doesn't care if I view it, I don't care if she views it.  Hell, some nights we check it out together.

Exactly. I used watched porn on occasion, then it reeaalllly slowly developed into an unhealthy addiction. It's weird? my brain started to program itself to get a fix, like a drug. All I could to think about was sex and it got in the way of everything (my work, studies, social life? everything!); It devastated my life and I've seen the destruction it has done to other people and families through sex addict support groups. Although it is tough, I've been recovering for a few months and I'm going to pull myself back together.

You don't need porn, just good a rationale for sex. Eat your greens and drink your milk, stick with your girl, live a healthy lifestyle, don't become a nympho  :hihi:  :peace:
