I used to have braces as a kid and the dostor took my four canines (<---??) and I cried like a baby, but my teeth are ok now  ;D

I got them on when i was 15, just the dentist is a prick and keeps extending the "off" date. Hey hey so 17 means you aren't a kid anymore  ;D

You're only 17? :nervous: I keep forgetting that I'm talking to a bunch of teenagers online. :hihi: Since GNR's heyday was when I was 12-17 years old, I always assume that most of you are my age. Ocassionally I get a reality check when one of you tells me you're a kid. Isn't there one person here thats only 13? :o If everyone here ever gets together and meets, it will be a couple of 30 year old guys in a room full of junior high and high school kids. :hihi:

In all seriousness though, it would suck that not everyone imaginable could get together as there is alot of people from overseas, but those of us living in the US or Canada should make plans sometime to get cruuunked :beer: Im game whenever.

I got my braces put on when I was 15. I had to wear them until I was 18. That wasn't so good. Having them taken off was so uncomfortable too.

Last year, I started a thread about having a HTGTH CD release date bash, but it got locked. It would be almost impossible to do. The only way to manage it is have like a north american party, european, asian,etc. Have Jarmo fly in to the various locations. :hihi: Its something that we should all try to do around when CD comes out. I have a feeling that when CD comes out, quite a few people will leave the forum and it wont be the same, and you'll never see them again. We need to all get together and have a night that we'll never forget. :beer:

That's something I worry about from time to time too...

When someone goes, Im sure another will take his place...

If anything I see the major age demographic switching to young kids to teenagers when the album drops.

I seriously think the people who are around these days are going to stay for years to come. We are pretty close to CD, and after it this board is going to be a so much more positive place, not that it isn't right now, but even more so.

You're right. After CD comes, there will be alot of new people. But it wont be the same. I dont want to get to know a whole new group of people. :hihi: Yeah, some of the HTGTH hardcore will stick around, and some wont. After a few months of heavy posting about CD's release and reviewing CD, etc., I think the older fans will gradually be replaced by the newer ones. Some people have already left. There was this really cool girl here, Double Talkin Jive, and she just left out of the blue last year. It really sucked. She was a "realist" like me, and she added something to every thread she posted in. After she left, no one even seemed to notice or care that she was gone. How fickle. Is that how it'll be when I'm gone, nobody giving a damn? :crying:

I got my braces taken off this past summer. At first, it felt like my gums were HUGE but you will get used to it after a couple days. The retainer is something you will have to get used to also. The first few days you have it in, it will be kinda hard to talk. I was told that you should only take it out when you brush yur teeth but I take mine out when I eat too. It just bugs me while i'm eating for some reason.

You dont worry about people being so overjoyed about Chinese Democracy finally coming out, they'll find alternate activities than visting here on a daily basis?

I mean, dont get me wrong, I love coming here and everyone here, but once CD comes out, I doubt Ill even be here that much...Before I even registered, I visted here pretty much daily to see the news updates..if there were any... :hihi: and for some reason, I can myself doing that again.

I think the Jungle and Bad Obsession will still be frequented by me, but let's face it, when CD is released, the Gn'R section is gunna be absolutely insane. 100 posters on one thread, random threads all asking the same damn question, and arguments even more repetitive than the speculative ones that already are in that section..It would just be to much to keep up with..

Here's hoping we find out sooner than later.. :D

I had mine taken off on my 16th bday.

My teeth sure felt weird after two years of braces. It is a nice feeling though.

My daughter has them now.........

Perhaps a pre-releasers board is in order come the time - admission set on registration time - if that is possible

Yeah it is hard to talk with the retainer in. The one I have is clear plastic, similar to Invisiline.  I have to take it out when I eat. Actually I just wear it at night, because I eat all through the day. lol

I had braces for about a year and a half.? From about 13 to 14...? I hated them at the time, but I got used to them and now I am soooo glad that I got them!!!!  Oh ps.... Make sure you wear your retainer or your teeth will go out of place!!

As for leaving when Chinese Democracy comes out, ha! I'm sure that there are quite a few people here that don't even go in the GNR section much anymore, save for when a bit of news surfaces...

The disscusions, so far, have all been done to death, so I find myself comming here for the other four active sections, as far as I'm concerned. I'll be here 'till I die!

I got them off today. My teeth felt so weird so a few hours but they have settled down now. I get the retainer in two weeks or so.

Wear the retainer or face wearing braces again as an adult (but next time it's on your dime).

I have seen it happen a few times so far........

My wisdom teeth are coming in, and they itch like hell.  I too, have braces, so I don't know if removing the wisdom teeth is a possibility.

I don't know how that works. Ask your dentist.

Mine came in late and I waited.......big mistake. Take them out as soon as you can. I can't remember why, but if you wait they are harder to get out. All four of mine required oral surgery and a week on the couch afterwards.

Just pull them out with a pair of pliers. :hihi:

I just re-started wearing my retainer and GOD DAMN it HURTS!! ?Your teeth feel like they are being slowly pulled (Which, is actually whats happening) but damn, it hurts. ?My advice: ?Where it from the start no matter the pain. ?It is worth it!!!

I wore mine, then quit. Then started again, (it hurt just like you said) and finally I lost them.

Now thats the spirit!!! ;)

I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled a few years ago. The after effects were the worst. And I wasn't given any kind of pain medication, just antibiotics.

Yeah, they gave me that pink stuff, umm, I think Amoxicillin.  What were the after effects?

Well my gums wouldn't quit bleeding, so as a result I kept choking on the blood and throwing up. Pretty sick, eh? It was a miserable day. My oral surgeon pissed me off before the surgery. He stuck me with a needle and then asked if it hurt. I said, "yeah". He said, "well you're going to have a hard time in life, young lady." :hihi:

That's just FUCKED up.

On my last surgery I had two nurses that were tying me down to this chair. It was almost like seatbelts around my arms. I asked them (right before I got knocked out) why they did that. They told me that people would get knocked out and then slide off the chair. So they would strap them down.

I laughed and said "This is the only situation I can think of where my wife would allow me to go down the hall with two women and let them tie me up." Them laughing was the last thing I remember before I came out of surgery. :hihi:

They strapped me in too, and the last thing I remember was asking the doc, is the needle in?  He said yeah, and off I went.  AND phew, I thought drama_qween was mad at me, I almost wet my pants.  Wouldn't it suck to wake up in the middle of surgery?

They don't hurt badly, it's more uncomfortable at times.

Yeah.   I once had a boyfriend who had braces the same time as me.  All of the people who sit there and say "you will get stuck" LOAD.....OF....CRAP.  ;D

My Mum used to work at an Orthadontist (people who fix braces) and she said that you cannot get stuck from normal kissing.  :-* :-*

That's why Im glad Ive never had braces then...normal kissing is only fun for like the first few days....

A peck on the lips can never compare to a passionate game of tongue hockey...
