HOOKERS N' BLOW, featuring Dizzy Reed (keyboards) of GUNS N' ROSES will kick off spring break in Sandestin, Florida at Rum Runners Resort (March 13 through March 27) before heading to the Northeast for more dates.

The current HOOKERS N' BLOW lineup also includes John Corabi (ex-M?TLEY CR?E, RATT), Alex Grossi (ex-QUIET RIOT, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), Troy Patrick Farrell (WHITE LION) and Scottie Griffin (DOG DAYS). More dates will follow in the coming weeks.

That Dizzy's band are playing some shows. Just through April and May by the looks of things.

I thought he had to release Chinese Democracy and tour with Guns N'Roses... :'(

yeah,we,re only looking at a few dates in spring here.it still gives the rest of the year free and more important,the summer for any festivals.

Its only a few shows in March/April, it's not really a big deal...

Chinese, you say the same thing everytime :hihi: When the summer dates are announced and the Stinson Soul Asylum dates are announced you'll be saying the same thing. Until PROVEN differently, there is no indication that anything is happeneing with Gnr other than the same old shit........still recording! :confused: :confused:

Dude, there is absolutely no indication that there is gonna be summer dates book with the side projects or anything either. As of right now its only a few dates and not that big a deal so there is no reason to write the year off yet. Just have a little more patience (no pun intended).

+ axl said we`ll hear music this year. assumed he talked about gnr we shouldn?t write the year off...........     by the way a song on a soundtack released on dec 31 is still enough for me at the moment.....i mean it`s better than nothing,..

The news doesn't mention if it will only be a March/April tour.

Maybe Dizzy Reed and his band have launched a Never Ending Tour. Just like Bob Dylan.

No big deal. Axl's comments sounded like they wanted to finish the unfinished songs before an album release. Any announcemnt regarding Rock in Rio will be a huge litmus test as to whether this band is aligning their schedules.

I agree. We're approaching crunch time. I know alot of people here name off their local festivals as places GNR might play this year. But reastically, Rio is the only one that has a real shot at GNR appearing. If Axl says fuck Rio, then you can fuck all the rest too.

Disappointing. I don't see how you can take it any other way. Perhaps it is too early to write off 2006, but the whole center of gravity just shifted from the first half of '06 to the second-half... and that blows.

At some point, whenever they actually get close, the band is going to have to quit everything they're doing and LEARN the songs/arrangements that Axl has finally settled on... right? I don't see how Dizzy is going to be doing that at Rum Runners. :nervous: 

Pretty much--i'd say if they're a 'no' for RIR then you can write off most of the summer-then again, they did play in 2002 w/out being at an RIR-but given it's large stature and Axl's history with it, i can't think of any other place for them to kick off the summer-if that's what Axl is in fact, intending on doing-he never explicitly said so-all he said about summer festivals was "we'll see what happens"

As for Dizzy and the rest, same old shit, different year. None of these small gigs the guys play are things that can't be cancelled for a gnr rehearsal/tour-now if Tommy joins SA for a tour, that's a little different-but we have no indication on that one way or the other yet.

If any of the shows are near anyone, someone go check Dizzy's band out. Who knows, maybe you'll get the mythical "Part 4" from that interview Madagascar88 never shared with us.. :hihi:

As someone already said, the biggest thing to look for is Tommy filling up his calendar with SA dates and not Gn'R..

According to sp1at, Dizzy Reed and J.Miller will start the shooting of a movie in February...

Seriously...stop tripping. This is the NEW GN'R. These guys are what us in the business like to refer to as Professionals.

Dizzy could to do these Hookers N' Blow tour dates, Tommy can do his reunions, Finck can do his animal sacrifices, Axl can party, it doesn't matter. We all know that when its time to get serious as a band under the GN'R umbrella, these dudes get their shit done. Look at uh, umm...well 2002 they gave us some shit right? What are you guys worried about?

No, this is not according to Splat.  This is according to Joel Miller, who wrote and directed a film that Dizzy starred in, scored and contributed original music to.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think this is going to be an enormously time-consuming collaboration.  Joel and Dizzy are just writing songs together for the film.

i don?t think rio is the only possible festival where axl could appear.... rock am ring in germany for example is also a possibility, but you?re right ... if they won`t play rio they won`t play the other smaller festivals either....  we`ll see what happens though....
