Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Since the series of Dizzy interviews have been published, there has been a lot of speculation regarding something Dizzy told the interviewer. I think the interviewer posted something which had words blanked out, but the gist of it pertained to him mentioning some kind of event that signalled something good for CD.

Coupled with this, quite a few posters here have alluded or inferred that they know the information but are also unwilling to share it.

I know there has been some debate about the validity of this interview, but why are those who claim to know something, not sharing this with the GNR community? What purpose does it serve to hold out on what may or may not be big news, to the GNR fans?

I think it's pretty sad and I'd like to know why people are behaving in this way.

The interview said he would give the big news in part IV and never did.

maybe they can't say because then their "informants" will not share with them in the future.

Either that or whatever is happening isn't 100% set so they don't want to announce anything prematurely.

can we name who is claiming to know what the BIG secret is and see if we can come up with something.

Bullshit, if there was some big secret they should not have claimed to know anything. Its dumb to say I have some big news ill tell in part 4 of the interview then not tell it.

The interviewer already told select people about what Dizzy said regarding Axl that couldn't be published, and supposedly the event already happened (this morning) and wasn't open to the public.

and not to spread new contraversy, but there's a new GN'R myspace that's been up for a day or two, and hasn't been deleted (like all the other GN'R myspaces have), and they say they're gonna post new songs soon, just like someone said that was gonan happen.

There is no "big news", no " inside info",  no "insiders", and there isn't this select group of posters that know what Axl's next move is. Its all bullshit. I still find it hard to believe that the majority of you have fell for this pack of lies. Look what we have been through for longer than a decade? All of a sudden, you're believing everything that you're told, coming from someone who admitted falsifying certain segments of the so called "interview"? The GNR fanbase has reached a critical point.  Fakes, impostors, mods with supposed connections, and bullshit rumours treated as legit news are all now not only being embraced, but held up on the highest pedestal imaginable. If CD isn't released this year, I cant even imagine how the GNR community is going to look in 2007.

Even our Greekman moderator said that Mr. Stinson told him some things  when they met but he didn't share it cause he had no permit. Wonder if Christos can tell it now since it obviously hasn't happened or it was only some honest words about Axl or Chinese Democracy.

I?m a member of this community for quite a while now ( around 3 years.....) and it wasn?t ever any different.  there were always guys who looked for attention and guys who didn?t want to share what they got.... Actually, no, I'm not aware of Axl's "next move", but what Madagascar88 didn't tell the forum is quite BIG, in my opinion, and it is the main reason I'm going to be watching intently over the next few weeks...? :beer:

My theory is if you know something you cant share, dont even mention it. It will keep people off your back.

Well, M88 shouldent be suprised over how people react to this. If hes been on the GNRforums for a time, he should know all the dirty stupid rumours floting around! But who knows, im not saying eather this or that, i dont actually knoe if M88 knows something.. But people should be carefull with what they say!

If you know something, i think the safest thing is to pass it over to Jarmo, or some Mods, before you spread it. In that way you can have a bit more cred.
Im like to focus positive, and i read the Interview from Dizzy, which i thought was GREAT by the way! You got my Creds there M88, so i also really hope that the event rumour come out to be true. I cant lean eather way.. in that way you can come out of the situation the best way

Im not doubting anything and i actually really enjoyed the DIzzy interview its just a hell of a lot of people have 'inside knowledge' and just once i'd like someone to tell me something so i can see whats worthy of being so secretive about

That is fine but you dont tell people on the  board that Tommy or Dizzy told you some huge news but cannot tell the boards. You just keep it to yourself and no one is the wiser. But tell people you have huge news of course people are going  to want to know what you were told.

I find it hard to believe that there is any big news. I mean if the interview is legit... which i believe it is, its pretty fucking obvious dizzy has no idea what is going on. He doesn't hang out with axl.... he probably hasn't even talked to axl in months. Like dizzy said he knows about as much as we do.

The headline acts for the Download Festival at Donington are announced this Wednesday.

So far the biggest rumours for bands appearing have been Foo Fighters and Korn...

i really hope gnr doesnt tour or play festivals until the album is out. I dont wanna hear new songs live for the 1st time. I want the album. then do what you want. Dave, I agree 100 percent. I'm really surprised that Jarmo hasn't put his foot down and cleaned house of these mygnr people prancing around in here yelling "Top Secret Info! Top Secret Info!" ?and not telling anybody anything. Its pathetic. Its a slap in the face to Jarmo, and all the the loyal HTGTH members. They're also starting to mention it in different threads, and theyre trying to steer topics into this secret info shit. I was at mygnr a couple days ago, and this "top secret info" isn't getting the same attention there, and I find that very odd. Its like they're intentionally trying to start trouble here.

If any of you guys know anything 'top secret' either share it; or if you don't, admit it; you'll have a lot less people hounding your ass if you just say now that you're bullshitting than if you keep shitting on and everyone finds out in a couple of weeks time that it was all lies.

I don't think they are due to make any headliner announcements for another 4-6 weeks.

Amen a hundred times over! IF people tell you things off the record-respect that and don't say that you know something and you can't tell but it's big...it's unfair to the person who told you in confidence and unfair to the board members. makes it look like you just want attention.

Well, would you rather not know anything at all, or know that atleast something is happening positive with GNR?  Did you ever think that Madagascar88 probably mentioned something so that you guys don't lose faith, and maybe start to getting a little excited.  As for telling exactly what it is, why does he have to do that?  As long as I know something is happening, that's good enough for me.  I don't need to know the exact event, and wouldn't you guys feel at all bad for spreading something that Dizzy didn't think was right to share with everyone over the internet?  Have a little patience and just be happy that something IS happening. 

As far as I know, there's only been one member who claimed to have some information lately....

Big news n dizzy doesn't go..

by the time we get the album we will have heard more than half of it if they keep playing new songs. I rather just wait. we have waitied this long.

First of all, I never claimed to know "big news". From time to time I hear lots of things (concerning all GN'R-related bands), which seem valid cause they come from people I trust, but you won't see me opening new threads.

If you check my posts closely, I hint things, usualy to shoot down rumours but people never read into them and to be honest I don't care more than that. That is because one can never be 100% sure in the GN'R world and also cause there are too many stupid people posting all the shit their little head can think of.

Now, about Tommy. I have spent 3 days in 2004 with Tommy as I promoted 3 shows for him in Greece. During those 3 days we talked a lot, which is natural. All of that was personal and confidential as I never asked him for an interview. I still have a good relationship with Tommy (I won't say we're friends, cause we're not but it is good) and I wouldn't betray that for all the money in the world.

I never put pressure on Tommy to get "special" info. And if you want my advice here it is:

Have some patience cause good things come to those who wait.

I feel if you know something but have no interest in sharing it then never mention it...  it really is that simple ,don't open a door then slam it shut

These mygnr people dont realize how stupid this little game is. Lets live in fantasy land for a second, and say they do have secret info. They've already betrayed Dizzy's trust by mentioning that he told him something. The smart thing to do would have been not to tell anybody. But instead, he tells these mygnr people who are now frequenting this forum, and rubbing it in people's faces. Whether you tell the info or not, Axl already knows that Dizzy opened his fucking mouth and squealed. The only reason to keep hoarding this info is to play games. These people were saying  "Fuck HTGTH" a few days ago at mygnr, but theyre here every day bragging about secret info.

as a longtime (since '91) guns n' roses fan and an awaiter for the new album since 1999 i feel obligated to say something about this. i'm as excited about axl's reemergence and the forthcoming release of new music as any diehard gnr fan, and having watched an online fanbase as dedicated and patient as the gnr one, which i take great pride in being a part of, it's a shame to see gnr fans either deceive other gnr fans or withhold potential new info from them. we are watching something amazing take place here together, the long-awaited new guns n' roses album is finally coming after all these years and we are right here awaiting it and experiencing it together online, and for anyone to try to withhold news about this event from other dedicated fans who spend parts of their lives supporting their favourite band, is simply dispicable. this is music we are talking about here, not governent secrets. i respect and appreciate axl's choice not to speak until he has something to say, but i refuse to believe that he or any other member of gnr would let a select few fans of theirs in on crucial information about the album and at the same time make them swear secrecy and refuse them to pass the information on to other fans. regardless of what may or not be happening now, fans who keep other fans from taking part in the guns n' roses experience we are now witnessing, are a disgrace to the loyalty and the dedication gnr fans show both the new band and this unique community.

The fans you're talking about have been around forever. Axl's silence has allowed people who want attention- to get it by having "insider" knowledge and causing a huge stir.

An easy solution: GNR has an official website... GNR should use it.

I took up for Axl's "silence" for a long time... Then time rolled on... rolled on... rolled on.. Tour Cancelled for no reason... time rolled on..? time rolled on... Buckethead left... A statement saying a release date for CD would be announced in the next few months...

That never happened. I'm saying when you decide to tease your fans, and not say anything, your asking for fake insiders to start causing havoc.

LOL. More of the same. I would guess the band gets a phone call or fax anyway acknowledging a release date. I doubt they get together unless they have to play live which could be awhile from now.

Guys, there have been "insiders" and shit for the last 10 years on the boards....from Usenet to GNROnline, to MYGNR to HTGTH, everywhere. The only 2 things I can remember being true from all that time is that someone posted about OMG being in the trailer on MTV Awards in 99, (although the major news wires also picked it up), and that GNR were going to play MTV in 02.

Thats it. There may be more but thats all I can remember right now.

All other "info" is pure specualtion. Because I bet the "info" that people thought they had has changed so many times that it doesn't matter anymore.

Dizzy could very well have told him something...but who gives a fuck. Who's to say that it will happen? And if he DOES say something, and then it doesn't happen, then he looks like a dick. Dizzy says "album is coming in 6 weeks," (which he really believes), but guess what, something happens and the album is delayed. Is it FALSE info...not really. Innacurate, yes.

So I don't blame him, IF (if if if) he does know something, for not sharing it. But do I care? No. We'll all be holding CD in our hands the same day, and that's all the info I need to know.

Until then, take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt.

GH was predicted on the boards, as were a few other events like Bucket's departure, and a few other things.  Does anyone remember any other things that were predicted, or rumored on the boards which became true? 

I agree with Lofton, that 1st post was fantastic, and I should add, that we would all find out more without the insane in-fighting between different sub-segments of the GNR community.  We all love the band, and that should unite us.  Also, I think it will only help the band, if all of those with some info share it with all, and build the grass roots movement.  The rumors will spread to other sites, like wildfires in the Malibou hills.  Also realize, the OMG thing was leaked on purpose by the label, to be shared online, and generate buzz within the GNR community for the single.  Many things are leaked, in a very discreet manner, by mgt. and the label---and sometimes not solely for promotional reasons.

You're smart. : ok: But I think you're wrong about "insiders" predicting BH's departure. If memory serves me correctly, when rumours were swirling that he left, the "insiders" were saying he was still in the band.

Sigh....some of you guys are REALLY funny.  I have been coming to HTGTH for a while to read the news and just recently discovered the message board....I wish I hadn't.  It would have been a cool place to talk about old gnr, new gnr, fave songs, experiences etc...(which in all fairness I see has been discussed at length), but all this nonsense about "being fair" and "mygnr vs HTGTH" and "enough is enough" is really pathetic.  Is this board all some of you have?  I mean, ITS A BAND!!!  Some people seem to be getting REALLY worked up over this shit.  Heres some advice...UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER for a few days and talk to REAL LIFE PEOPLE, not some dork on a message board.  If you hear a rumor and think its bullshit, the think its bullshit.  If you think its cool and could be something, then rock on.  If some dude says he knows something you don't, does it bother you so much where it seems like some of you are losing sleep over it?  If all you've been doing the last decade is coming to this site and praying to see someone named "XX_I_Heart_AxlRose_XX" say they know when CD is going to be released then I highly recommend leaving the house a few times a week.

Well, the Metal Sludge interview was sent directly to them. They didn't nab it off some other fan site or anything. It was also a believabe fake.
