I think this movie is going to put your theory to the test :no: Mann did not save Collateral IMO. The movie was shot great and had great scenes, but it still added up to a big ole Goose egg in the end. To me the thought of remaking Miami Vice makes me shudder. Knowing the Mann has a hand in it gives it a chance; a slim one. In a way I wish they would stop creating remakes. As cheesy as Miami Vice is to watch these days, it's best to just leave it alone. It was a great show for the time and had a huge cultural impact in America during that time period as well. Today, as time marched on, it has become cheese. Best to leave it alone I think. Definitely won't be seeing this film at the theater for sure. But I'll probably watch it eventually when it comes on one of the movie channels.
