  in axls latest interview ha says ''Every time there's a big festival announced, we get rumored to be on there,But we'll see what happens." does anyone think this might be a hint at something upcoming and could you post of any BIG FESTIVALS you know of and there dates so we can try to come up with the most likely ones.
 ill start with the obvious ROCK IN RIO but i dont know the date.

I think the RIR concert would make the most sense bc of GnR's history there.  All I know is if they ever tour anywhere near me again in the US Im going.

may/june sounds perfect.when would we hear if there gonna be there or not.i think that would be the perfect place to get things rollin.

I just hope before anything happens either tour, soundtrack, whatever, ... that CD is out first.

i think that a couple of festivals just before the album will start the CD sales much better than just dropping it,remember its been in production for some time and im sure they want to break some sale records like most albums sold in the first week.

Ummm , well .. the "band" better get together and rehearse these "queen type arrangements" soon and find that would be third guitarist fast if they wanna get a new setlist going by this summer and actually be able to perform it well.

Or we could just enjoy the AFD setlist of 2002 again sprinkled with a touch of madagascar and the blues.  ???

Maybe theyll play the big day out in sydney in january 2007??? Metallica did it before.

I' m not starting a rumour or anything, so don' t bash me, but I' d like to make a suggestion. One very big fuckin'  festival that will certainly try to get Guns on the bill is Rock am Ring in Nurberg. They had Guns on their bill two years ago, but that didn' t happen sadly. Marek Lieberberg is a big GN' R fan and used to arange their concerts in the 1990' s. It's taking place on 2/3/4 june 2006. And the best thing is: Korn is also confirmed to play the festival... Let' s hope Axl picked up some spirit to follow Korn to europe the other day in LA. Let' s hope...  ;D

carling weekend, (reading and leeds)

reading is the second biggest UK festival to glasto, which isn't happening this year. so it'll be the biggest UK festival this year.

i hope they do leeds again,to see 50,000 slipknot,prodigy,puddle of mudd and offspring fans waving there lighters in the air to november rain was trully amazing.plus the crowd was rowdy all day until GNR came on,then they all stood there amazed by the performance,those were the days  :yes:

Question? GNR announced in dec of 2003 that they were going to play at RIR4, so howcome now there hasn't been an announcement from any of the bands that might be playing this year?

is it to be played on the same or about the same date as 2004

Umm, Axl was trying to defuse the rumors of GnR appearing at every single festival that comes up. He said that he will see, meaning that most likely nothing was being planned in terms of live dates.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. The latest Rock in Rio would be terrific and is definately a high publicity event. Other than that, I would hope Axl spends his time finishing the record b/c I'm still not convinced that the album is due this year.

Problem is that's where the majority of their fans come from. They are a Rock Band...........

I would rather them play Monsters of Rock, than to have them on some Top 40 Radio Stations Big Summer Concert on the same bill as Nickleback, Green Day, Kanye West, the Pussy Cat Dolls and Ashlee Simpson.

Woah! Of course mate! I agree with you about that they are a rock band, but not a heavy metal band which is primarily what bands are at The  Monsters of Rock Festival. I would always love to see them at things like Reading/Leeds, Glastonbury, T in the Park etc. I cant imagine for a second Guns would ever play at on of these Radio Stations summer things with all the boy and girl bands! That really was not my point! I just woudl really not wanna see Guns play at a bloody mettlers festival when they have so moved away from that genre! Mike

i dont think they would play Reading/Leeds as they did so in 2002 - which is very recently in Gn'R years - that seemed quite an auspicious occasion too - just dont see that happening again this year.  T in the Park is probably too small, but as Gn'R never played in Scotland (Grrr - WHY!), it could be a great move. Europe festivals are more likely I think - then a possibility of one or two arenas in the UK.  Axl was in such a good mood when they played in london last time - am sure he would wanna come back.
Really hope its RIR  as this will make Axl so happy to be back there.

axl was in a great mood at leeds exept for the rant about the city council and the promotors,and that was the prodigys fault for taking so long with thier set.i think he would like to possibly do leeds and london again.another thing i thought,i was at both leeds and london and i thought they sounded better outdoors (leeds).

It doesn't look like the organiser have approached anyone as yet either with concrete offers. Running a bit behind schedule this time around.

Axl Rose hat den Guns 'n Roses-Fans versprochen, dass die Band in diesem Jahr endlich das versp?tete Album "Chinese Democracy" auf den Markt bringt.Der "November Rain"-S?nger plant laut WENN f?r diesen Sommer sogar Festival-Auftritte.
 
Rose zur Zeitschrift "Rolling Stone": "Die Leute werden in diesem Jahr wieder Musik h?ren. 'Chinese Democracy' ist ein sehr vielschichtiges Album. Ich versuche, mal etwas anderes zu machen. Einige der Arrangements erinnern an Queen." Der Rocker arbeitet f?r die Platte an 32 neuen Songs, 26 sind bereits fertig. 13 davon sind f?r das Album fest eingeplant. Guns 'n Roses haben ihre letzten CD 1993 auf den Markt gebracht - das Cover-Album "The Spaghetti Incident".

It's a different interpretation of the original Rolling Stone article. Papers like to do that. Just read the original article and make up your mind from that... it's as close as it's get to Axl's own said words.
