Title: An Axl Rose Topic on Fark.com (Post About his Studio Time in 1996)
Post by: Thorazine Shuffle on January 13, 2006, 03:37:59 PM
I'm reading on fark.com the comments made about the whole Axl suing that car dealership http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=1855635

And I saw a poster who wrote something interesting down below:

We were in the recording studio next to him in 1996. They had been renting the studio for over a year (at $3,000 a day) and had not even pressed "RECORD". Axl would drive himself to the studio every night in a pickup truck with a camper shell. If he has all these cars, he never drove them to the studio. Nice guy though, in person very low key.

This guy has no need to bullshit, he's obviously not a die-hard like us, but I figured this was interesting enough to post here (Fark.com is a news site where posters bullshit about the stories.)

sure oh sure, it means you dont act like a big thing. He probably keeps to himself and attracks the less amount of petness around him.

Hence the "pick-up truck with the camper on it".  It all sounds pretty plausable to me.

Low key means keeps to himself and does not try and draw attention to himself when he comes and goes.

Slash was unavailable for most of '96. Duff, Matt and... Paul Huge, possibly.

Was he? He toured with Snakepit in -95 but I think he (unsuccessfully) tried to work with Axl&co in-96 and ended up leaving the band after that.
