Title: It's been five years today since the new line-up debuted
Post by: DunkinDave on December 31, 2005, 02:10:13 AM
Five years.

Half a decade.

Damn.

I first became a GNR fan in late 2002, so I haven't had to wait as long as others here for the new album.

Cheers to GNR, its fans, and that god damn album we're all still waiting for.

It's been almost five years since Axl's grand comeback at RIR3. I still remember drooling over finding a boot of the show and hearing the new songs. I was like "GN'R are Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!." And now, five years later...nada. It will be 2010 soon enough, and then what?

Haha, yeah i find that too. I always say "New GNR" when talking about Guns, even though people like Tommy have been in longer than Izzy  :o

i was there 5 years ago tonight!  I took a greyhound from NY to vegas and saw the greatest show of my life.  Nothing will ever be better than that HOB show.  Standing there before the show I remember not believing I was about to actually see Axl/gnr.  It had been years since anyone even saw a pic of him.  Was he fat, bald etc... then since they went on so late... it was like... ok are they really gonna play... its almost 2 am.  Then when buckethead played the opening to WTTJ I almost shit myself.  It was the perfect opening.  I can hear myself on the bootleg say oh my god!  then axl's scream.... it was better than in the old days.....  it was truly the best show and night of my life and if I met axl I would thank him because he is the only person on earth that can deliver a show like that.  over 3 days on a bus was well worth it.  actually, right after that i decided to drop out of berklee and head to LA.  It convinced me to keep trying to create rock music instead of all that jazz bullshit!  peace!
