I'd say it would be November Rain. Just because SCOM got to number one, doesn't mean it sold more.

Well it only means, it was more succesful in the releasing moment, but maybe it actually sold more copies, ?some figures would be interesting. On the other hand ?do you guys know wich songs were singles?. I dont, thanks in advance.

In Belgium and the netherlands KOHD went to number 1 for about 10 weeks I think in the summer of 92.
November was in the top 10. So was Paradise city, YCBM and Don't cry.

Yes it does.
No it doesn't. Perhaps November Rain didn't make number one, but could have easily stayed in the top ten for much longer than Sweet Child Of mine and therefore sold more copies. Maybe it was a slow week when SCOM went to number 1, there are a number of reasons a song can sell more yet not make number 1.

Not only is Sweet Child their biggest single, it was also the most requested video in MTV's history for more than a decade.

Makes me think how shitty it was, they made video's for The Garden, Garden Of Eden and Dead Horse, and they weren't even singles. The could have made video's for Nightrain, Civil War and Knockin On Heavens Door instead. Why didn't they?

That list doesn't prove the amount of the sales. It's also pretty weird because some of those was never released. That must be a list of radio play or something.

Why cant people grasp the fact that Sweet Child was their biggest selling single? What more proof do you need? When it came out, it was the most requested video of all time, and not only did the teenyboppers and peope of all ages buy it, but all guns fans who already had AFD bought it because it had Its so Easy live as the B side. No other GNR single even comes close.

november rain hit #4 right?
What songs were ahead of it i wonder.... I mean to keep NR at #4
Can we look up the billboard charts archive?

Title: Re: GNRs biggest single ?
Post by: Communist China on January 21, 2006, 11:18:38 PM
Many people say NR is overrated, and have problems with its length. Some even say its bad. I think thats too much, but I'll agree NR is one of the most overrated songs GN'R ever had. It was really good, but some fans would go so far as to compare it to Beethoven's 5th.

That comparison is just too much...

I even read some guys believe Axl is a genious, just because he is taking such a long time to release the album...  well....   come one guys.
