Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Hey, anyone like this group?? i like them from there 2nd album onwards, they have a different singer then, got a heavier sound. The bassist from them is the one in marilyn manson now. They seem a pretty good group.

It's funny how Tim Skrowed (sp?) went from being a total hair-metal DLR-type dude to MANSON!!!

i know its crazy, i think its cause his solo carreer was industrial music.

Shotgun Messiah's second CD "Second Coming" is one of the greatest CDS I have ever listened to.

This CD was amazing

too bad their follow up was a crazy dark metal sounding "Violent New Breed" which is a cool song but the album was totally different.

I thought Tim Skold was the vocalist?

I saw one of their videos on VH1 Classic and I thought they were terrible.  That's just one song though.

He was 2nd album onwards, first album he played bass, someone else sang.

How awesome is that song, at first the singer sounds a bit drunk but then his singing clears up a bit, i love the chorus on that song, and the solo owns.

You can tell its the 90s era shotgun messiah....the hair cuts, those shirts everyone wore, even gnr.

i found the second and first on ebay and im a proud owner, need the debut now. i think my dad has it on tape, from when it came out, but tapes sucks ass.

i have them all in mp3 though so im not losing out majorly.

the songs i've heard from Violent New Breed are awesome. i'll probably try to get the CD used off amazon.

I owned "Second Coming" as well.  I remember liking "Ride the Storm," but it's about the only song I can remember from that CD...

i hope you kept it, its quite a rarity these days and comes up rarely on ebay for a decent some considering its a unknown band.

Nope.  I sold it back - probably for a few bucks - in what I call "The Great Purge of '94."  Sigh.

A bit.   :hihi:   Honestly, though, I'd regret it more if I could remember more of the album.  Like I said, other than "ride the storm," it's a blank slate for me.   Perhaps I'll get a hold of another copy sometime (if so, I'll gladly share via IM)...

Zinny Zan from Zan Clan  was the singer on the first Shotgun Messiah album.     Tim Skold was thwe bass player and became the singer on Second Coming and Violent New breed. 

   I love all 3 of their albums and the EP  they put out all great stuff. 


   I wish I knew where the guitar player Harry Cody was nowdays he could really tear it up.

second coming, is the second album by this band. its real good, if you go onto the link i posted. sign up, then access the forums theres a megaupload link for people to download it, so im saying if you want the album go there to get it!

just started listenin' to these guys over the past couple days - they are better than I expected!
I wrote them off after hearing and seeing "Shout It Out" on VH1Classic's Metal Mania as another 80's metal band.... but after getting deeper into their stuff they actually turned me into a pretty big fan.

Hary Cody and Timmy Scold are a pretty good combination and I like how their music always changes and how they go from Hard Rock Glam with their first album (Shotgun Messiah) - to a Skid Row Slave to The Grind sounding second album (Second Coming) - finally to a industrial metal experiment (Violent New Breed).

Favourite songs at the moment: Heartbreak BLVD; Sex,Drugs,Rockn'Roll; Monkey Needs; I'm Your Love; Nobody's Home; Trouble; etc....   :peace:
