Title: Set Me Free (version 1 vs. version 2) Post by: marknroses on November 28, 2005, 11:16:35 AM I don't know if this has been covered yet, but I noticed after downloading Set Me Free on PC (I already have it on CD) that they sound different in very small, but very significant ways.
I really like the version 2 of SMF on Contraband, it rocks so much harder and has more edge than the version 1 on the Hulk SNDTRCK. It shows me how even Velvet Revolver have a "perfectionist" edge to them. They won;t just settle on the first mix or first edit of the song, they still try different things until they find the right sounds for the song to flow well. It also comes to show how good their taste is in music and how well they know what the fans will dig. Yeah, I love that too.... I think my favorite part has benn the jammin section with the talkbox during "Ilegal I song" though...
