hopefully it will be cool on the album, At the moment im not overly impressed. But then again, even some old gunners songs didnt come off too well live back in the day. If thats the case i will expect the unexpected.

I don't think it completed yet but I hear the vigour of something blooming fresh in this song, which might be indicating the blaze for the brand-new sound they were about to reach.

th only bad thing in this song though is the guitar solo. Does Axl have ears? it sounds horrible. Where is the bluesy touching and thrilling vibe of a classic GN'R solo? Guys, Slash really needs to come back! Finck and Buckethead's guitar style really scear me :nervous:

It fucking sounds like an heavy trash/electro metal guitar solo. Horrible. Axl should come back to Classic-Rock music with a BLUESY VIBE.

I think it mayb shud b slitly more bluesy but then it wudnt make da otha guitar players sound unique.

I hope Rhiads and Beduins won't be on C.D. I don't think Axl will put it anyway, it is way to mediocre to be in Chinese Democracy. They may had fan jamming with it and played sometimes in lives just to show the don't play only 3 songs.
Conclusion: The worst of the new songs by far. And this is not a personal opinion only, it's a public opinion as well. Take a bunch of boys and girls and tell them to compare the new songs. I'm sure they would say it's better even than Silkworms. And you all know how much the public opinion shapes the success of an album. Don't get me wrong guys, I believe that in Chinese Democracy there isn't place for fillers. If you like it just slow your ego, e.g. I really love the song Back off Bitch but it's certainly a filler.

You are severe with Rhiad. I guess you don't like the electro vibe in it, but there are some killer rythmic riffs in it.
For me, this is a better tune than chinese democracy (very very average for me - a bad "smells like teen spirit" wanabee revival - let's hope the studio version will be better).

The likeness of the two songs is remarkable. I've mentioned that once: a friend sent me the riff of a song through msn and asked him if it's Nirvana's Smells like...   and he answered, no it's Chinese Democracy dude :nervous:.
It's too underground to claim the glamour of Nirvana's anthem. It has some nice parts, like the keyboards and finally definitely a rocker song.
I am severe with Rhiad because I want a great chinese democracy. It can be a hidden b-side somewhere in the singles. I also like the electric stuff on it (the only thing I like). I don't like the screams of Axl on this and the whole atomosphere that is a little trashy. Maybe Axl wants to conquer the arabic feelings with this song, I don't know...

To tell you the truth, I miss A LOT the Classic-Rock/bluesy GN'R vibe with this new band, it sounds barely metal for me there and then...I hope the record won't kill the Classic-Rock GN'R sound of the old band.

Rhiad is gr8 tune and Chinese Democracy song is gr8. i feel the keybord ruined it. The solo in it is gr8 as is solo in chinese democracy and OMG is kool

Good point, Jimmy. There are "polls" about this song already in existence. The dead horse section has plenty of comments about Riyadh. He probably checked those other Riyadh threads, he didn't like what he saw, so he creates this new thread hoping to achieve the results he's looking for. So far, he's achieving his desired result. But you cant erase the past.

In the past riyadh always wins for Nay, but since there are new people to the board we will also a better result. You are just upset because your claim was 100% false. I did this poll a while ago here or on mygnr and it was more yays than nays. So you are wrong once again.

What I said in the other thread was of the new songs a lot of gnr fans think their material is just as strong as the old stuff save Riyadh and silkworms. Meaning on those two songs the board is pretty much split where where as songs like Madagascar and the blues pretty much everyone likes them.? I NEVER said that everyone likes Riyadh like you said no one likes it. I know there are people that do not like it but more people on the boards like it than hate it that was the simple point that you seem to keep missing.

I vote a HELL NO, NAY. Rihadh SUCKS. Silkworms SUCKS MORE!.  These two are as bad as My World and that SUCKED BIG TIME.  Blues is a great new song as is Madagascar.  But how can anyone possibly say that Riyadh is the best of the new songs? That is just bewildering. Even a charter member of the Axl smoochers club like Dave wouldnt' say Riyadh is the best new song, right Dave-o?

Funny thing is the people that seem to dislike riyadh and a few of the other songs all  seem to have ex gnr members in their user name. Ironic isnt it?

I would take Riyadh over 3 songs on AFD-the electric version of You're Crazy, Anything Goes, and Think About You. I like it more than Chinese Democracy as well. The riff and underlying electronic groove would sound wicked in a studio version. I hope it is on the album. : ok:

this board is geared more for new gnr axl rose fans so of course the song is going to get the yes vote.. The real test is to post links of the song on non gnr forums and even non music forums to get real opinions..

Silkworms isn't that bad it's just too many are stuck in the past when it comes to GN'R .

People being stuck in the past has nothing to do with the fact that Silkworms sucks. :hihi: I know what you mean though. If CD has all these grand epics with orchestra and shit, or if it has a new element of grunge, industrial, etc., it might alienate parts of the GNR fanbase while at the same time getting new people interested. Its gonna be something special to watch. :beer:

Well, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. To me, it just isn't as powerful as so many of their other songs. 99% of their other songs, actually. But if Axl's singing it, I'll give it a chance.

 RATB's good, and I think you hear the word "potential" with it alot because the live versions are a bit lacking...a bit choppy.  I like flow.  Sweet, syrupy flow, like Maddy, The Blues, and even CD and IRS.  I guess that's why I'm really not a fan of Silkworms which I find very choppy.   :peace:
