Title: COMA APPRECIATION THREAD
Post by: NorthwindNS on November 19, 2005, 09:42:07 AM
I'm a relatively new GNR fan. I haven't heard much about COMA. In my opinion, its one of the best. The last 2-3 minutes of the song is spectacular - between the lyrics and the melody... What do you guys think about this song?

If it's coma I gotta say it's quite underrated song, yet one of the greatest I still find that song mesmerizing and the lyrics are fenomenal

coma rocks, its one of the only gunners songs that is impossible for me to get sick of. I could listen to it all day..... They should have played it live more often.

Awesome song, Axl's awesome lyrics, Slash's phenomenal leads (those melodies are brilliant!)
It's Axl/Slash collaborations like this that make me so sad that we'll never hear anything like this from them two again.

I love it too  8) The main riff is awesome.. and it's kinda sad that they didnt play it live many times.

"I wrote some really cool shit when I was high.. There's a song called 'Coma', a long song, really heavy, and I wrote that loaded. And it's not something that I can really see myself writing right now."
"I like 'Coma' a lot. It's got a defibrillator in it you know, the instrument that starts your heart when it's stopped. And there's some EKG beeps too. We were just fucking around, but the song is heavy, and Axl's vocals are gorgeous I mean really amazing"
-Slash

Have you ever stopped and think, what Axl Rose is living since 1994 is a Coma... and he?s about to wake up from that Coma and realize he?s been wrong all this years... and will regret about kicking all his fellow musicians off the greatest hard rock band the world has seen (besides, of course, of AC/DC)...

Damn... that song really rocks!

coma rocks, its one of the only gunners songs that is impossible for me to get sick of. I could listen to it all day..... They should have played it live more often.

You should listen to the bootleg of the Hartford 1993 concert (the one with the acoustic set in the middle). After Dead Horse, Axl's says, "what will we do next". Duff plays the intro to Coma. Axl says "Fuck You". Duff plays the first two notes again. Axl says "Don't even think about it". "We'll do it if you can sing it". Thought that was kinda funny.
